An Invitation at SIAM CSE
Folks, As you probably know, the SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering takes place next week in San Diego. The organizers were sufficiently visionary to explicitly call out "Discrete and Combinatorial Algorithms for CS&E" as one of the conference themes. Responding to this invitation, Ali Pinar and I organized a two part minisymposium which will take place on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. For those of you who are planning to attend the meeting, I would also like to seize the opportunity to discuss the status of our community and what constructive steps we should be taking. Unfortunately, the meeting agenda is very full, so finding time for such a dialog is challenging. However, there is a half-hour coffee break before each of our minisymposia. So I suggest we gather and chat during this period on Tuesday - 2:45 in Garden Room D. I'll repeat this invitation at the Monday mini, so those not on this mailing list won't feel excluded. I look forward to seeing you next week. - Bruce
