Hello from hx2415 user!

Hello,
I had this ipaq hx2451 pda sitting in a box for the past couple years and thought it would be great to install linux on it. I'm not a linux guru, but use it on a regular basis. How cool would it be to get it on this thing?!
It seems that my model is not quite supported yet. That's my luck as I ended up trading in a really cool looking pda at comp usa that broke just after I bought it, finding out that they didn't carry it anymore, getting a partial credit that they lost.... and this smaller pda. (Are they still in business?)
Beyond my silly rambles, I'm routing for you! :) Let me know if I can crash test anything. I'm not familiar with the process or technical items, but am glad to help fill in where I can.
Thank you,
Chris

Im working to compile emdebian for the ipaq (hx2790) and then run the image and kernel with haret, as I have some working kernels from other projects.
so far, I had angstrom (hx2000 kernel was removed some time ago in the 4700 folder but I got it days before it dissapears) running with an SD in ext2.
-if anyone wants any of the images and kernel to run this, will glad to upload it to a server.

I appreciate that the hx2750 is rather long in the tooth now and that this project is almost certainly moribund, but can anyone tell me how far it got? > I would like to attempt to run Debian preferably but any Linux is > better than none and I clearly need a bootable kernel for that. This is as far as I got... it at least gets a running linux on the device but the holy grail is getting the wifi to work. Once that happens the project can go in to high gear... without it the device is useless for internet. And since the Wifi drivers are not public many of us are waiting on hackers to reverse engineer a driver. Ken

I would like to attempt to run Debian preferably but any Linux is better than none and I clearly need a bootable kernel for that. Thanks in advance (if there's anyone out there) Simon

I've had my iPAQ since 2006 and this project hasn't really started up much. Can someone please work on it?!!!!
If there is a much more advanced version of getting linux on this handheld, please update the wiki. Thanks.

Anyone tried to build an image under OpenEmbedded for this platform? If so, what did you set your distro and machine type to?
