[bug #35901] Border appearing around some windows...

Follow-up Comment #3, bug #35901 (project gnustep):

Greg, could you please provide information on how to reproduce this problem?

Which application are you using (gorm I presume), on what platform and with
which window manager?

Most likely the code that computes the window border is incorrect for your
window manager and we end up with space around the window neither used by the
window manager nor by GNUstep.

[bug #35901] Border appearing around some windows...

Follow-up Comment #4, bug #35901 (project gnustep):

The way to reproduce it was simply to start up any app. You would see the
issue in any window belonging to the application. I was testing with Gorm and
Ink.

As of now, however, I'm not seeing this issue anymore. Which makes me wonder
if it was an issue with my configuration or something. I haven't seen it for
a couple of weeks now. I don't know what changed to correct the issue. If it
happens again it's okay to re-open this bug, but for now I think I will go
ahead and close it unless an argument can be made to keep it open.

[bug #35901] Border appearing around some windows...

Follow-up Comment #5, bug #35901 (project gnustep):

However there are problems with in-window menu in some apps. See attached
image of MyGL.app running on Xfce with Silver theme. At launch, the menu isn't
displayed and an empty bar is displayed at bottom. You needs resize the window
to display the menu.

Update of bug #35901 (project gnustep):

Follow-up Comment #6:

I am closing this bug as requested by the original author.

German, could you please file a new bug report for your problem, which seems
to be completely unrelated to the original issue?

[bug #36155] [Gorm] NSPopupbutton text centered

Update of bug #36155 (project gnustep):

                Category:              Gui/AppKit => Gorm
Summary: [gui] NSPopupbutton text centered => [Gorm]
NSPopupbutton text centered

Follow-up Comment #2:

I changed this into a Gorm bug as the prototype for a popup button on the
palatte there has centre alignment.

I have no idea how this could be changed as Gorm itself doesn't allow to
change the alignement of popup button cells.

Details:

Gorm uses its own version of the method [NSCell setUpFieldEditorAttributes:]
to disconnect the text object from the font panel. This method has not been
adopted to the changes of the original method in gui for many years.

A simpler and less error prone solution would be to add the method
-fieldEditor:forObject: to GormNSWindow and extend the super call to
disconnect the text object from the font panel.

[bug #34833] [windows] NSImageView and large images

Update of bug #34833 (project gnustep):

Summary: [windows] NSIMageView and large images => [windows]
NSImageView and large images

    _______________________________________________________

Follow-up Comment #2:

I just started to see a similar problem on Linux with the cairo backend. Not
sure if this is related, but when I display a huge image in a normal NSView
inside a scroll view and start to scroll, then the views stays empty and need
ot trigger a redraw for the image to get displayed.

This may be completely unrelated, but is just as annoying as your problem :-)

Details:

Hi,

when I build a GUI with Gorm I realise that one can't write multiline text
into a NSTextField.

I wish to have this possibility in NSTextField.

Fred Kiefer said on the discuss-gnustep mailing list:
"It would be possible to have a delegate set up for the text field in Gorm
that would allow newlines to be added to the text."
