Error on Lamdaemon test

amdaemon server and path   	   	Using 127.0.0.1 as lamdaemon remote server.

Limiting Access to Hosts

I am trying to limit who has what access to my Linux servers using
LDAP and LAM. It looks like pam_check_host_attr does what I am wanting
but I am wondering how to use LAM to put in host entries for my users.
Is this the best way to limit access, or is the a better way that
incorporates better with LAM? My goal is to control what users have
access to things like ssh and ftp with LDAP.

Quota on groups with spaces

Hi all.

First post to this mailing list. I've been using LAM since recently - very 
nice piece of software!

I found out today that setting quota on groups with spaces in their name, 
such as would be the case if running a LDAP/SAMBA combination as PDC in a 
Windows environment, is not possible. For example, it works fine for group 
names such as "Administrators" but fails for "Domain Users".

I've tracked down the problem to lamdaemon.pl, specifically at

 <at> vals = split (' ', $input);

Where the group name would be split as individual arguments.

I've made a quick workaround which just checks if the third 
element in vals is 'quota' (instead of the normal second element), which 
would mean a split has occured in a group name with a space:

#Deal with spaces in group names
if( ($vals[2] eq 'quota') ){

     #Glue the two parts of the groupname together again
     $vals[0] = $vals[0]." ".$vals[1];

     #Move everything one position back
     for($count = 1; $count <  <at> vals-1; $count++){
       $vals[$count] = $vals[$count+1];
     }
}

Don't know if this is 100% correct and according to coding guidelines but 
it seems to work, and if anyone else is running into this problem I hope 
this will help them fix it.

LAM Module

Hello ,

I'm a LAN newbie and i need your help in order to be able when creating an
user account to define by default some attributes like vacation,
amaviswhitelistsender, amavisblacklistsender, homedirectory, etc.

I think that is needed to alter the schema to include the object class
vacation. How ?
Where shoul i include the default values so that when i press SAVE the new
account assume them ?

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. Have been using lam for the past 5 years, this particular
problem occurred after upgrading from 2.7.0-1 to 2.8.0-1 in a debian testing distro package of the
ldap-account-manager. I am using PHP 5.2.11-1. Memory limits, permissions and everything else are all
set correct and appropriate. No errors in the log files. Just for the record here is my web server version
(Server Version: Apache/2.2.14 (Debian) PHP/5.2.11-1 with Suhosin-Patch mod_python/3.3.1
Python/2.5.4 mod_ruby/1.2.6 Ruby/1.8.7(2009-06-12) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8k mod_wsgi/2.6
mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1 mod_antiloris/0.4)

"New User", "New Group" as well as creating new profiles result to blank pages. In my setup only New Host
works fine.

I am still investigating the problem. 

If someone has new information or any suggestions please share.

if "foo" is the name of your user account. What is the result of "getent
passwd foo"?
