XAML in Pakistan Taking Off - Follow Up

Hello,

allow me to post some statements from the course promos. Here we go:

We will discuss that why I think:

1. That Longhorn will complete take over the Web and make HTML,
Javascript, Flash, PDF, Windows Forms, Java Server Pages (JSP),
ASP.NET, etc. all Legacy.
2. Why Longhorn is the Java OS that we have been waiting for the last
5 years and much more.
3. What technological advances in hardware have made Longhorn possible.
4. How Longhorn builds on and aggregates on all the technological
developments of the last decade and how this synergy will bring a new
software revolution.
5. If Linux/Java/Open Source camps do not clone WinFX, they are
finished at least on the client.
6. How Sun, IBM, Oracle lost the battle to Microsoft the day they let
Netscape die.
7. Why Firefox has no chance against a XAML browser.
8. How Microsoft is going to outclass all its competitors my making
Longhorn technologies (WinFX) available for free for Windows XP users.
9. Game development on Longhorn and Xbox 2 will become a bigger
industry then Hollywood.
10. Why software developers will have to think and work like graphic
artists.
11. How software factories will be built.
12. Why I think you should move from Java and .NET to Longhorn
technologies right away.

XAML Taking Off In Pakistan?

Hello,

while nobody seems to be interested here in North America in XAML it
looks like XAML is talking off in Pakistan.

The MyWinFX Yahoo! Group, for example, started and sponsored by a
not-for-profit group in Karachi, Pakistan already has 500+ members.

  See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mywinfx and http://www.mywinfx.org

What's your take? Do you think people in Pakistan will be able to
afford a Windows 2007 license including the state-of-the-art machinery
or is it more of an off-shoring play? Any thoughts? Any comments?

Announcing MyXaml 2.0 Preview Edition

Hello,

  Marc Clifton writes:

I am releasing a preview of MyXaml 2.0 so people can get a sneak peek
at what is coming down the road. After evaluating the MyXaml 1.0,
taking into consideration customer feedback, and looking at how to
position MyXaml 2.0 for future endeavors, I have reworked the code
base with several architectural and implementation changes.

Please note, this is a preview version. Do not replace MyXaml 1.0
with this preview version, as there are several features of MyXaml 1.0
that have not yet been migrated over to 2.0.

Creation Of A Core Parser

Several of my customers have requested that MyXaml not be coupled to
the System.Windows.Forms namespace. Separating the parser from the
presentation layer makes a lot of sense. With 2.0, you can use the
parser in contexts that do not require a presentation layer. You can
also apply the parser to different presentation implementations-web
and compact framework, for example.

Plug-In Extenders

The System.Windows.Forms namespace must of course still be supported.
Issues such as SuspendLayout and ResumeLayout, working with data
binding, image lists, etc., will be implemented using the new extender
feature. I haven't yet migrated all of the .NET 1.1 ""helpers" from

Re: Re: XAML Introductory Tutorial

Hi Gerald,

Yes I can do it but that will not be the proprietary of anyone. It means that whatever i write about XAML it can
be used on MyWinFx, MyXAML, or anywhere. I have written that tutorial to help people to understand XAML
quickly.

Thanks for your interest.
