Re-licensing Notice Heads UP!

We are trying to finalize the Squeak re-licensing efforts and joining
the Software Freedom Conservancy. As a final step in the re-licensing
SFC has requested that we widely announce the intent to re-license with
a clear schedule. We are currently working with the SFC in getting this
written up and hope to have the text ready in the next few days. We
will be blogging this, emailing it to every relevant mailing list we can
think of, and we would really like to post this right on the Squeak.org
front page. It will only need to be present for about 2 weeks. Will
someone help me with that when it comes time or shall I botch it freely
on my own? ;)

Re: Re-licensing Notice Heads UP!

Thank you Janko!

My thought is to add another section to the page between the Squeak and
Take Part in the Innovation sections with a title something like 'For
Your Attention'.

To get the section title highlighting is it sufficient to set it to
'Heading 1'? Can you think of any problems I might run into?

Folks -

The SOB has been reminded by ESUG that it'd be good to acknowledge their
support. I agree and would like to fix the situation ASAP.

What does it take to put up a link on the front page (say, in the top
left navigation area somewhere between "PressRoom" and "ContactUs" which
is called "Supporters" and initially links to a simple page that looks
just like http://www.squeak.org/ContactUs/ with the contents being:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Supporters

Squeak is being supported by the following organizations and individuals:

[ESUG logo+link]

* ESUG, the European Smalltalk Users
Group, has supported Squeak and Smalltalk in many ways. Amongst its
many contributions is sponsoring the ESUG Innovation Award which has
been won several times by Squeak based projects and products.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

We'll add more supporters as we get the okay for the endorsements, but
I'd really like us to put the page up ASAP. I've got no experience with
our Aida site but if it's a wiki or an otherwise reasonable html or
other syntax I can probably do a simple copy/paste job to bring that
page up.

Supporters page

Hi -

Here is the first version for the supporters page:

	http://www.squeak.org/Supporters

I'm not sure how people feel about linking the logos statically (in
which case I'd need to know where to put them) or whether linking them
from other places is fine.

If you think the page is reasonable (I think it is) we should add it to
the main navigation menu so that it's accessible.

Cheers,
 - Andreas

Re: Supporters page

FYI and as a reminder to the team in case this has dropped from the team
memory: http://static.squeak.org/ serves content found in
~website/static/ via Apache in the usual fashion.

Re: Supporters page

Oh and I say "check that 'in menu' checkbox". Unless we think one of
the supporters is going to be bothered by some increase in bandwidth due
to the direct logo links changing to locally served images can take
place at any time. If this is a show-stopper let me know and I will
take care of it ASAP.
