Hm, hard question. I think of Squeak as general use, accessable, simple
yet advanced,
uniform approach to data, objects all the way, etc :-)
Not to diss your work but I'm thinking of asking the community as a
whole on Squeak-dev
and Squeakland to come up with some suggestions on a powered by Squeak logo.
I think we also should ask the Smallwiki guys for a powered by Smallwiki
logo.
What do you think?

Frontpage fixed etc

Hi folks!

Ok, now I have fixed the frontpage on both www.squeak.org and wwwtest
according to what I think we agreed on - plus or minus a few details.
This is now the reworked shorter version that has been sitting on
wwwtest for a while - I think it is better. I also fixed incorrect URLs
on a few pages and made sure to change both wwwtest and www.squeak.org.

I will try to find the time to look over the other pages I own later
this month.

I kinda jumped the "procedure" here (Needs Approval etc) but it felt
like changes we have agreed on - and small URL changes that doesn't need
approval. Btw, Karl - could you (shortly) describe the procedure you
would like for us to use?

regards, Göran

PS. I think the "Powered by Squeak" logo would look cleaner if the lego
piece and background image was removed - just use the button and the
text. But perhaps with a different font. :) Yes, I am hard to please.

Re: Frontpage fixed etc

I'll work on the logo.

The "lego" has the image of battery "power", portability, and modularity.
However, I'll try it without the battery and with a different font.

Cheers,
Darius

Re: "Powered by Squeak" logo needed?

I think we live in a mashup - remix culture now.
Go with what we have. Let others come up with their designs in the meantime.
I'd be happy to switch after that.
No need to stall waiting for perfection.

Suggestion+for+Squeak+Website -[BROKEN LINK] license.html not found from home page

On the http://www.squeakland.org/ home page clicking on the the license
link results in the following:

The requested object //download/license.html/ was not found on this server.

You can try one of the these options:

    * Click on a shortcut in the menu.
    * Jump to the Squeak <http://www.squeak.org/> homepage.
    * If you typed the page address, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    * If you clicked a link from another page, please inform the

Is this the broken link on
http://www.squeakland.org/plugin/installers/files.html ?

Squeak.org is a totaly redesigned site and I guess a lot links from
other places got broken.
I cc the squeakland.org admin so he can fix the issue.
The new link to the license is
http://www.squeak.org/SqueakLicense/

Re: How to upload files to ftp.squeak.org?

Bruce, I went ahead and put the Squeak3.9a.from3.0 zip file (from
Jerome's request) in the /tmp directory... you can move it to the
images_with_all_changes dir in the files area when you get the chance.

Thanks,

- Doug

I think stuff we agree on on this list can be updated by the page owner
without having
me to approve it. (less top down administration)
New pages and content should be discussed on this list and added to
'needs approval'
I'll monitor at the 'needs approval' site and do updates etc.

Sounds ok ?

Goodie. :)

Very much so. This means we don't need to create a mantis issue? I
always felt it was a bit of "process overkill" as long as we communicate
on this list when we modify the Needs Approval page - that ought to be
enough IMHO. :)

regards, Göran

PS. As per the announcement yesterday (I am stepping down from the SqF
board) I should hopefully get a bit more time to spend on the teams I
participate in, which means I should be able to spruce up my pages a
bit. I also think we should "test drive" the "download and install"
procedure and improve those pages. But anyway, more on that later. :)

www.squeak.org updated

(resent with the correct address, Ken and the SqF board has already
gotten it)

Hi guys!

I took the liberty of adding the Team model description (rewritten a bit
for current times) to the Team page on www.squeak.org:

	http://www.squeak.org/Community/Teams/

I also modified the paragraph on the top. Ken can always correct the
page - you are after all Team master. :)

And if anyone on the SqF board feels that the Team model described is in
some way "wrong", speak up. I didn't change it much from the original
description that is still available at:

	http://swiki.krampe.se/castaways/6
