A Universe is a set of packages. You want another set. If I change the
Squeak set, the Pharo set won't be updated. This has some advantages
(we control what appears in our universe), but has the big
disadvantage of duplicating my effort to update the Squeak Universe.

Re: Replacing 'ReadStream on smth:' by 'smth readStream'

Stef,

My email server crashed yesterday and was out of action for several
hours. From emails I found this morning, it looks like Damien and I
will cook up a plan on the Wiki. With luck, we will be able to get the
RB to do the tedious work, and also leave a simple defined procedure for
converting "old" code that we did not have loaded during the
transformation. Transformed code should work as it always did; new code
will be able to benefit from consistent semantics and exception
handling. There will also be silently truncating methods for the
situations (and they indeed exist) that call for them.

More to come.

Resent messages?

Hello all,

Did some messages get posted more than once? It beats losing them, but
leaves me wondering whether it is my goofy email server or something
about the list conversion. FWIW.

What about Keith's Sake packages? Since they are regular smalltalk
method they can be managed using MC instead of an ad-hoc server, and
maybe the common parts can be modularized using
inheritance/delegation...

I guess Squeak Universe manage versions ? Why not consider Pharo as a
specific Squeak version ?

Looks good! I got beyond the problematic script. But I could not load
to the latest package because the SqueakSource server went down in the
meantime :(. Will check again later.

I think it does not change anything. Once you create a universe (from
scratch or from another one), I don't think updates in one goes to the
other.

Yes I noticed that too :)
I was planning to do a new release.
