Count users should do what you want. Remember though that it adds 1 if there's any stored procedures running.

QuickTime 7.1.1 is released

It seems to work with 4D Server 2004.4 and Windows 2003 but I have not tested it thoroughly.

  QuickTime 7.1.1also addresses an issue with third-party start-up items on Intel Macs.

David,

The path to the data file is stored in the Structure.RSR file.  Check the
Permissions (e.g. allow Everyone, Full Control).  FYI, this file is Modified
every time Server is quit, so if you start and stop the service and the
Modified Date does not change, something is locking the file.

I haven't seen a download link for 7.1.1/Windows yet. Where did you get
yours?
Only 7.1 is listed for Windows here...

Sorry Jeff,

  I ran the Quick Time Updater on Windows after I received the update notification on the Mac (it is up to 7.1.1
on the Mac) ... On my server it went from 7.0 to 7.1 ( I should have paid closer attention) It was working but
now after a restart, I have to revert back to 7 because 4D Server just quits...!

Password system reset

I've inherited a database with a very large amount > 100 of unused Users in
the 4D password system. I'd really like to replace this with a similarly
structured password system that has about 3 users.

Please help if you know how I can do this.

Looks like the 7.1.1 update was just to fix a problem
on Intel Macs that prevents Adobe CS2 from
installing.. obviously that's a much bigger problem :)

Search function

Good day all,

This may be a dumb question.

I am looking for a way to do a search using multiple words à la  
Google in 4D.

Example in a music database I have a filed for composer and a field  
for title of composition.
I want to type in one search field: Beethoven Symphony
(instead of having to use two search field)
and have 4D look for the info in both fields and return al entire  
that have Beethoven as a composer and symphony as a title.

Does this make sense? Is this possible?

Thanks, but I also need to know who (whom) - since users can be anywhere 
in the country - it'd be nice to know who to call to "remind them" to 
get off the system...  makes shutting down the service go much smoother.
