[Fedora-haskell] update on Fedora haskell-devel list

Hi, just a quick overdue update on the Fedora Haskell SIG mailing-list:

Since the beginning of this year all Fedora mailing-lists
moved to lists.fedoraproject.org and got renamed, and
fedora-haskell-list became haskell-devel list.

(The old address still works for the time being.)

I updated the mailman info page for this old list
to the newest list info.

final move to fedoraproject.org

Hi Fedora Haskell users and contributors,

This list has been very quiet for a while and though I announced long
ago in HCAR that this project was moving to fedoraproject.org I don't
remember announcing it formally here (and if I did then here is a
little reminder:). So here is a short note about that for those less
aware of current Haskell activity in Fedora.

The Fedora Haskell project is still active and now a part of the main
Fedora Project where it is a SIG: see
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Haskell

Today I moved aside the old project page at haskell.org/fedora and it
now direct people to the above Fedora SIG page.

There is also a mailing-list
https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-haskell-list
(subscriber only posting) if you want to follow Haskell work in fedora
more closely and contribute to that. For this reason I am planning to
close this old mailing-list too since it is now replaced by the new
one.

Thanks and we welcome more contributors to Fedora Haskell packaging,

Jens

Anyone else on this list?

Since I am going to get back to Fedora work
late August -- barring fires needing to be put out :-/.

news update

Hi,

The list has been quiet for some time, but work goes on slowly
behind the scenes. hugs98 and happy have now been in Fedora
for a little while. Bryan O'Sullivan also has an alex package in the
review queue.

Also Fedora SIG for Haskell is being started now.
<http://fedoraproject/wiki/SIGs/Haskell>

So hopefully we should see increasing and improved Haskell packaging
activity for Fedora
in the coming future.

maintaining Fedora Extras packages

Hi,

I am writing to ask if anyone here might be interesting in maintaining
or co-maintaining any of my Haskell packages currently in Fedora Extras:

darcs, ghc, gtk2hs, haddock

(Of course there are a lot more packages that could be added, but alas I
have decreasing time available for Haskell packaging these days.)

If you are interested please contact me off-list.

Thanks, Jens

hs-plugins for FC6

Hi!

I read in this post
http://www.haskell.org/pipermail/fedora-haskell/2007-January/000060.html
that packages of hs-plugins for fc6 has been created. I just wondered
if these are publicly available somewhere?

Thanks in advance,

List moribund?

I was interesting in grabbing some packages for FC6, and found that
nothing is available. I could spend a bit of time rebuilding existing
SRPMs, if anyone might find them useful.

Re: Problem building wxhaskell-0.9.4-1.src.rpm

Hello again. Now I have tried with the sources from

[bc24us <at> genaro GUI]$ cvs -z3
-d:pserver:anonymous <at> wx...:/cvsroot/wxhaskell co -P wxhaskell
and with an unicode patch for wxhaskell made by Eric Kow from the wxhaskell mailing list:

[bc24us <at> genaro wxhaskell]$ wget http://www.loria.fr/~kow/download/patch-wxhaskell-unicode-08
[bc24us <at> genaro wxhaskell]$ cd wxhaskell/
[bc24us <at> genaro wxhaskell]$ patch -p1 < ../patch-wxhaskell-unicode-08

Now I'm in Fedora Core 4 x86_64, and I get the same error:

[bc24us <at> genaro wxhaskell]$ LANG=C make
g++ -c wxc/src/extra.cpp -o out/wxc/extra.o -MD -I/usr/lib64/wx/include/gtk2-unicode-release-2.6 -I/usr/include/wx-2.6 -DGTK_NO_CHECK_CASTS -D__WXGTK__ -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGE_FILES -DNO_GCC_PRAGMA   -Iwxc/include
wxc/src/extra.cpp: In member function 'int wxInputSink::GetId()':
wxc/src/extra.cpp:224: error: cast from 'wxInputStream*' to 'int' loses precision
make: *** [out/wxc/extra.o] Error 1

So I'm afraid that all we can do is waiting for an update ...

hugs98 added to Fedora Extras

I'm happy to announce that, thanks to Gérard Milmeister, Hugs98 is now
included in Fedora Extras. Gemi is the package maintainer.
BTW some of the libraries and the demos have been subpackaged.

(It is already built for FC5 and devel but it may take a few days
before they are available in the yum repos.)

gtk2hs packages for Fedora Core 5

Hi,

I finally got round to building gtk2hs packages for Fedora Core 5
and they are available now from <http://haskell.org/fedora/>.
In addition to ghc641-gtk2hs-cairo there is also a "virtual"
ghc-gtk2hs package which should make upgrading smoother when the ghc
version changes: currently it just pulls in ghc641-gtk2hs.

Please report any problems here.

Cheers, Jens

ps I'm going to submit this gtk2hs package to Fedora Extras.
