[ANNOUNCE] Release Krysalis-Version 0.9 Release Candidate 1

The Krysalis Version team is pleased to announce that Krysalis Version 0.9
(release candidate 1) development has been concluded.

Krysalis Version provides a foundation for discovery and programmatic
manipulation of version information, primarily for packages. Krysalis
Version will "introspect" an environment to determine what versions are
available, allowing users to assert constraints for their package.

In short, this is in an attempt to automate the common steps associated with
debugging jar-hell (version mismatch) and bring some order to Java
environments.

With Krysalis Version users can automate the tasks of:

1) Ascertaining the version/availability of a given package (say during a
build)
2) Displaying the Java environment (to screen or ant log or to XML)
3) Checking consistency of the current environment (against constraints)
4) Stamping an annotated/attributed version into ones own packages.

Problem creating barcodes with xsl:fo

Hi,

I want to create a barcode with xsl:fo. When I follow the recipe given in
http://www.krysalis.org/barcode/xsl-fo.html I get the following error.
Can someone explain to me what I am doing wrong?

Need to specify the external JARs used in module.xml?

Hello. I am new to Krysalis and I am hitting a wall. Any help is 
appreciated.

I created a project similar to the "krysalis-project" template. I am able to 
compile with the "SmokeTest" code present in there. I moved my source code 
to "src/java" folder and copied the external JARs required to the "lib" 
folder. One such external JAR that is being used is Hibernate. I have the 
file "hibernate2.jar" in the lib folder, but when I compile my code, I am 
getting the following message:

ava:19: package net.sf.hibernate does not exist
import net.sf.hibernate.CallbackException;

I read through the documentation, I did not find anywhere that I need to 
mention the external JARs in "module.xml", "properties.xml" or "status.xml". 
Could you please tell me what mistake I am doing.

I had approximately the same problem. centidepe interprets the trailing didgits as a number of version of
the jar (remember version="..." in module.xml?) Simply rename the jar to something without digits or
with an underscore, something like hibernate_2.jar.

It worked for me.

Have you changed its descripotion in module.xml as well? It should be somthing like:

	<depend project="hibernate" version="supplied"/> (without ".jar")

If yes, could you post your module.xml (in part where it describes jars).

Yes, I think you should say <depends project="hibernate.jar"
version="supplied"/> in your module.xml for your project.

I am feeling a tad rusty on your version (beta5 I assume) but don't think
it'll find things in lib w/o a hint.

RE: Need to specify the external JARs used in module.xml?

Also, I found that "http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/" has "hibernate" as one of 
its components (?) similar to "log4j". But, the Hibernate packages are not 
getting recognized even with the following jars tag in "module.xml":

<jars repository="maven" href="http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/"/>

Is anything need to be done special for registering hibernate at 
ibiblio.org?
