Tellico script of the Spanish Ministerio and the fields generated

Hi,

I have played a bit more with tellico a I have found a little problem in the
Spanish Ministerio Script that I thought it was solved. First, the current
Spanish Ministerio Script has a little error in the way that only search the
books that are available and not those that out of print.

Also, there's a field in the info that is not added to the comment field and
could be interesting: the notes field. I have modified the script (patched
added) to solve this two questions.

Howeber there's a thing that I'm not be able to solve and I need help. I
have "problems" with some books. I have some books published that are part of
a collection or a series. I don't understand the difference. For example,
this book:

isbn: 9781841765174

is a book of the publisher Osprey Publishing and its title is:
Wellington's Army in the Peninsula 1809–14 and the author is Stuart Reid. It's
part of a series: Battle Orders and the number is 2.

To me in this case, series is the same as collection in the spanish script.
But, the tellico books database has a series field and number series that
isn't fill by the script. The script add a field collection with the
collection data plus comma and the number.

I understood that series mean a kind of books, that has the same tittle but
different volumes. But I think that I'm wrong.

Tellico script of the Spanish Ministerio and the fields generated: (II)

I forgot to say that there's another problem in the script. The spanish
ministerio put the translator of the book as author list, but with the tr
added.

Mathias solve this eliminating the tr as an author as was in the first version
of the script. Howeber, the information then is lost, because appears the
name of the translator as author. Although I think that it's very important
the task of a translator, I don't think that it's the same level as the
author. So, it could be interesting to add another field to the default with
the translator data.

Regards,

Leo

No platform Linux

Package: tellico
Version: 1.2.11 3.5.7, Gentoo
Severity: normal
Compiler: Target: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux 2.6.22-gentoo-r2 x86_64 (Gentoo)

I tried to add a new video game, and I cannot select Linux on platform, there is just Mac OS and windows.
I add it, but it can be great to add it by default.

Regards
Picon

I think that it's an important "bug" ;-). The template doesn't have the option
of this. Edit the collection fields, go to Platoform, and add GNU/Linux. You
could then put it as default value.

That's all, it's very easy.

Leo

Sure, good idea. Probably not much of a translation issue, either.

Some suggestions

Hi Robby,
I want to thank you for your great program!
Tellico is really the best linux program for collections management.

I'm using it for making some order in my 450+ movies collection.
Some little suggestions and questions:
1) Can you insert a "seen" field for Movies? There is a 'read' field for the
books, why not for the movies?
2) Can you insert a "Completed %" field for Games? I saw this in GCstar and I
think it's really usefull. I start many games at the same time :)
3) Do you think that it's easy to make an import/export filter for
www.librarything.com?
4) Do you think that can be possible/easy to adapt some script from gcstar
(related to extract game info from some websites) to tellico?
5) Are you planning to port tellico to kde4?

Ciao,
 Alessandro

I installed Fedora on a separate partition and was able to work on this
issue this afternoon. I'm stuck at home after knee surgery, so lots of
hacking this week!

I got on the Fedora IRC channel, and asked around, plus poked around with
strace. And I believe I discovered the cause of the problem. But I still
don't know why it was manifesting on Fedora only.

Here's the messy details, if anyone is interested. I was setting some
options in the MainWindow constructor that I believe are used for file
accession permissions. Probably a bit too much paranoia on my part, and
even some misinterpretation of the kiosk documentation. Once those settings
were removed, then Tellico would behave with respect to saving settings. I
moved those options to a global tellicorc file that gets installed now,
which seems to be the correct way to be doing this, anyways.

So, next release should not have any issue on Fedora, as far as I can tell.
SVN revision 2207, if you're interested.

You can add any field you want with the Fields Dialog. Or even modify and
remove the default ones. Adding a "Checkbox" Seen field and a Number
Completed field should be easy enough. Collection->Fields

The easiest thing is probably just a CSV export from LibraryThing and then
import that into Tellico. If there are any problems with that, let me know.
I don't think LibraryThing has an API at the moment.

I know Tian has enabled command-line exporting that should allow you to do

Thanks for the patch. It looks like maybe you reversed it? Easy enough to
fix. I'll go ahead and apply it to the script in SVN and leave it to
Mathias to update the version on kde-files at some point.

Yes, I did it. But I was suggesting to make them default.
BTW also an Original_title could be a usefull field for movies collection.

Ok, I'll try.
