Re: [Tellico] Add a tag

The problem is not whether the messages are eventually identifiable, nor whether they are filterable. It
is whether they are recognizable at a glance in the mail client's list view.

You can use the List-id tag in e-mail headers?

IMHO, it's better to identify list mails through list-* headers rather
than subject. You can reply to someone personally and the subject would
remain tagged, fooling your filters.

Just specify "List-id" field contains "tellico-users.forge.novell.com"
in your e-mail filters and you're done.

Updating entries does not get information

Hello !

First, I'd like to thank for the great job Tellico represents. I have been
using it for a few months now, and found it most useful.

In particular, I have started wrting a few scripts based on these of Mathias
Monnerville, in python. (One to enlarge the search on Allocine.fr, for
instance to get the whole distribution of actors, and another concerning
french comic books using bedetheque.com data base.) It works great so far
for searching new entries, but I experience some problems dealing with the
update function:

Currently, the answer of the script (in XML tellico format) does contain the
updated entry (and no other), but the entry is not updated by tellico.

I have tried to understand by trial and error on other scripts how it works,
without much success.

- The answer of the script should be in the same form as "normal" search,
right ?
- The answer does not need to contain only one item. How tellico chose which
one to pick ?
- If the answer contains only one item, why does not tellico accept it ?

Just forgive me if my english prevents me from being particularly clear.

This one works for me.

This one only has a customer-provided image, which is not provided by the
Amazon webservices. See where it says "customer image from ..." below the
cover? Check the last post on this thread:

I hear there are mail clients that suck less and let you color you list
view rows based on the content of the mail header... You can, for
example change the color of every message containing a "List-Id" header.

Greetings, Tobi

I'm not sure why your first example wouldn't include a cover image.

As for customer images, I wish I could include them, but amazon doesn't
return those in their results. There's not much I can do about it, as far
as I know.

Cool, that'd be great.

Yes.

It uses a weight score, depending on certain fields. RIght now a score of 10
is needed to be a valid update. A perfect match is anything scoring 20 or
more.

Re: Updating entries does not get information

Thank you very much for this quick and precise explanation on the update
procedure. I just thought it would take the better matched item, and not
that it would require a minimum score.
Since I send a lot of parameters to the script for the update, it can decide
by itself what to choose, that's why it only delivered one entry.

If I am not mistaken, you do not use two-parameter match. (Fields A or B are
worth 5, but toghether it's worth 20 ?)

Clearly. In fact, I have tried to remove the value of only one field, and
the update didn't work. But I understand why, now.
Concerning the video collection, I only noticed it didn't always work fine,
I did not investigate much (just didn't thought it depend on the type of
collection).

Feature Request: Merge Entries (patch attached)

Hi!
It would be great to be able to merge entries within Tellico and not just
merge on import.

Why?
(These are just examples.)
1. Sometimes, after doing the "Import Audio File Metadata" with "Merge with
current collection" selected or not, I realize that I still have two (or
more) entries for the same album, because I wrote the album title slightly
differently from one track to another in the IDv1/IDv2 tags of my audio
files. Typos suck. As a result, I have two entries with same album
Title/Artist/... but different tracks.
2. Besides, again sometimes, I may want to use "Append to current collection"
by precaution, and do some checking on the appended entries before I merge
with other entries.

In these cases, I would be great to be able to merge entries directly in the
Tellico view(s). Overall, such a feature can help find and cleanup duplicates
in collections.

As I am new to KDE/QT dev, I gave it a try and attached a patch to provide
this feature for Tellico 1.2.13 (screenshot attached too).
It requires you select multiple entries. It doesn't matter whether you have
different titles in your selection: if entries are to be merged, there will
be respective merges for each title (respectively). This uses the same
algorithm as for "Merge with current collection" import option, except I made
a small change to it for fields that allow multiple values: the resulting
value will be the union of the values of the entries merged together.
Example:
In a music collection, we have entries e1 and e2 with same title/artist, but

If I understand you correctly, you're right, that's not what I do. Certain
fields get a score: 5 for equal, 3 for close match, etc. Then those scores
are just added up, sometimes with certain weights.

Great, thanks for that info.

I'm not sure how the script would set the parameters. You're talking about
including a score in the XML result, perhaps?

What I stuck in there right now should work for even custom collections. I'm
rethinking the perfect match score of 20, since the matching stops if a
result has a score over that. Maybe it should just keep going with all of
