Discogs API v1 is being phased out

Got a notice a while back that "API version 1 will be discontinued on
Jan 15, 2012. Please make sure to upgrade your clients before then."
That's like, you know, today.

Anything need doing?

Column display issue

Robbie,

Thanks very much the software, I've used it for several years now, but
currently have one slightly annoying issue...

If I have a 'tickbox' field in my collection, when I display that column
in the main (top right) view, it seems to always show a tick, whatever
the value of the field.

In 2.3.3 it worked as I'd expect, showing a blank or a tick, but is
wrong in the 2.3.4 version I'm using, which is the rpm
"tellico-2.3.4-1.fc15.x86_64" from the Fedora 15 distribution. I've also
tried compiling 2.3.4 from the source tarball and that still has the
same issue, so it looks like it was probably something that was altered
between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4.

It's a music file I'm using, and I just created a new test one using the
defaults, and just added a a couple of dummy entries, and displayed the
'loan' column - both entries had ticks, even though the actual records
did not. Opening the same file in 2.3.3 showed it correctly.

best wishes

Mike

Crash report

I tried to scan a book cover in Tellico.

I had started Image Scan! for Linux 2.28.1, and had a book on the scanner bed. I did a preview, selected an area.

In Tellico, I went to the Front Cover tab of the book and selected Scan Image... Tellico crashed.

Thanks, I did have a chance today to take a look. I'd forgotten that I wrote
the importer for Delicous Library files back before DL2 had been released.
And I believe you said you were using Delicious Library 2, correct?

The XML files you sent came from exporting your collection from DL? I'm
actually surprised that importing the file for the books works in Tellico.
The files you sent are different XML than what DL1 used, I believe. I've
attached an updated XSL file that should work for your movie export. You can
replace the version of delicious2tellico.xsl in the xsl/ directory in the
tellico source. I'm still working on getting the music to work.

The actors and genres don't work quite yet, primarily because the way that
DL exports them is very sloppy. They're all run together so it's impossible
to figure out how to split the actors or genres.

Do you know where/how DL2 stores your data? Is it all together in one file
somewhere? I'm not sure if it still uses XML or maybe switched to some DB
type.

Delcious Library export correctly

Currently using Delicious Library [DL] (2.7.6) on OSX 10.7.2

attempting to get ready to import into debian sid.

I have the books exported/imported correctly. The Movies & Music
exporting is proving to be much more difficult.

How is the correct way to export from DL so that Tellico will import
without receiving errors in the terminal/shell;

tellico(7734) Tellico::CollectionFactory::create: no collection created
for type = 0
tellico(7734) Tellico::Import::DeliciousImporter::collection: bad
collection type: 1

Thanks

Any way to create the exports from the command line or back up to a different folder ?

Hi All,

I have a question. Is there any way to do the following things :

1) Generate the Exports from a command line call (instead of having to
fire up the application)

2) When backing up the .tc file, have it back up to a DIFFERENT directory
than the original file ?

My reasoning for this is due to my own stupidity (I blew away my 4
collection files and their backups). I have the exported data so I'll
just plug through recreating the files.

But unfortunately I don't have everything (because I didn't 100% of the
time export the TC file to HTML/etc. So if I had a way to do it from the
command line, I could ensure "some" backup copies would exist.

Thanks !

Matt

Tellico questions - data files back up, scaling & isbn lookup

Hello,

I am new to this list so forgive me if these questions have already been asked but I could not seem to find the answer on the kde forums.  I am volunteering for a school (non-profit) and we are using almost exclusively Open Source software.  After looking a few options such as Koha & Evergreen to manage the School's library collection, I stumbled onto Tellico and have been very impressed with the ease of use and capabilities.

I am currently testing v 2.3.1 on Ubuntu 10.10 and it works well, we scanned a few books at random and imported the ISBN into tellico and were able to populate most of the books data using isbn.com or amazon.

The questions I have:

1- Tellico not being DB driven, which directories are storing the collection data so I can include them in the backup?

2- The school has a collection of approximately 10,000 books, will tellico be able to scale and handle this volume?

3- The school being a French billingual school, many of the books have been purschased in France.  While the ISBN lookup works fine and configured for Amazon & isbn.com I still have a good % of books not getting any data.  I was wondering if anyone could suggest another source to configure for books originating from France?

4- Some books have multiple copies, I could not find a field set up to indicate the number of copies?  While I configured a new field for this purpose, the check out process only sees 1 copy and therefore the other copies are not available for checkout.  The work around seems to be to create a duplicate of the book but I am wondering if there is a better way of handling this?

Thank you in advance!

Stephan
