Please try 'gmake SHELL=/bin/bash'
I got similar errors while compiling kde-3.2.x.
Setting the shell to bash solved this for me.

Re: Compile error: kdenetwork/kopete/protocols/msn

It's a reflection of our (unique) environment. We have about 1000 Solaris users, and we use a tool called
"cadappl" to do application distribution for those users. As a result, a large number of applications are
installed so that they reside in $HOME/cadbin (libraries in $HOME/cadlib, etc.). In this case, standard
libraries like png and jpeg are installed using that mechanism, so those locations need to be in relevant paths.

Usually I remember to edit them out to avoid confusion :-)

If you want more details about the tool, I'd be happy to provide them via eMail.

compile error: large files (again)

Hi again ...

the same error occurs with ksysguard - most likely in every module that uses
the /proc-filesystem? I hadn't had these problem with kde-3.2.3

Anyone else encouters these?

KDE 3.3.0 Solaris SPARC 8 and 9 [32-bit] preannouncement

Hi.

This is a small preannouncement. :-)

I will start packaging KDE 3.3.0 32-bit for Solaris today. Getting
this done and uploading should take a couple of days at most.

This is a full release of KDE 3.3.0, built with QT 3.3.3. This time
around, separate distro packages for Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 will be
available. KDErequired needs a full upgrade, but maintains full
binary compatibility with previous KDE releases.

This distro of KDE was built with SunStudio 9 (Forte 9) on both
Solaris 8 and Solaris 9.

If you would like some i18-n packages built, please let me know. I
already know about kde-i18n-de. :-) Also, please let me know if you
have any other special requests. I will try my best.

A few highlights:
	- 4 additional, very cool looking, widget styles, courtesy of David
Johnson: Grover, NewStep, Phase and Qinx
	- SuperKaramba 0.34
	- i had promised a reduction in swap space/memory usage. Here it is:

[steleman <at> obiwan][~/programming/kde-3.3.0/extra-3.3.0][09/06/2004

Re: kde-solaris Digest, Vol 18, Issue 4

Special requests:

1. K3b 0.11.14

2. Solaris 9/10 x86 Forte9 builds of KDE 3.3.0

3. Frozen Bubble game? ;oP

The joys of twilight programming....

Re: KDE 3.3.0 Solaris SPARC 8 and 9 [32-bit] preannouncement

     Wonderfull!!!

I can't wait for it! The only things which keep me out
working fully in Solaris 9 x86 is KMail :( and KBabel :(
Because I must continue translating KDE in Romanian :).

Of course, you can try to build kde-i18n-ro package for me 8^)

Planned for very soon. :-) The cd burning module in K3b needs to be
ported to Solaris, and i haven't had the time yet. If someone would
be so kind and give me some direction as to where to find an Ultra-60
compatible external SCSI CD burner. My Ultra's have only CD-ROMs.

Planned for very beginning of 2005, when i am going to _finally_ get
my own Solaris x86 decent box.

Does this require SPARC assembler ? ;-P

Yes. :-)
