I did, and it is resolved. According to the reply I got, it should be
fixed in the next release :-)

I suspect the fix would be there if you try the snapshots ...

Thank you for the fast response.
We tested the first compile and are now recompiling with your patch (it works
:-).

applications requiring the CDE clipboard

Hi Everyone,

I have been very happy with the KDE roll out in our office
so far, but I have had one problem of late. I have been tesing
hoblink to give users full windoze functionality for those that
are not happy using openoffice (the whingers).

The problem has been that the clipboard that hoblink uses is
a bit ancient and uses the old CDE implementation. When run
through CDE it works fine, people can select text from Kmail
and paste it directly into the windows desktop.

In KDE though cut and paste behaviour between the hoblink
application and Kmail does not work at all. It is not just Kmail
though, no other application is able to paste its contents into
hoblink.

The one exception (and there is always an exception:-), is that
Netscape can do it. This is not possible through a highlight select
of text though - you have to use Netscape Alt-C or select it from
the edit menu.

I would like to know of anyone who has had to set up KDE clipboard
(backwards) functionality for CDE? Has anyone else had similar issues?

All help welcome.

If I can get this solved, the users will have no case to move from KDE/SunRay
implementation here to PC's ( <sarcasm>which I am sure they don't want just
so they can play quake</sarcasm>).

Sorry, that should be 'select text from other applications'. I know
there is know way kmail could possibly run without the kde supporting
processes.

The version of KDE is 2.2.2, I should have put that in the first mail
as well.

I've run into this problem compiling kdeartwork-3.0.1 on my solaris2.8 sunblade system.
I'm using qt-3.0.4.

Any Ideas?

Re: screen lock with screensaver

Yep the background disappears as well. However it doesn't let me in if I
enter an incorrect passwd. I will look through the archives. Thanks

Even if you enter an incorrect password three times?

Re: screen lock with screensaver

Yep. Even if I enter it 3 times it doesn't let me in. I just found
something in the archives by Russell that seems to have solved the problem
for someone else. I will try that out later during the day when I am on my
console.

Thanks

Konqueror with SSL doesn't work.

Hi All,
Whenever I try to use Konqueror with a SSL url it gives me an
error dialog box - "protocol died unexpectedly" or something of that sort.
I have installed openssl and have even put it in the configuration of
konqueror. When I hit the test button it says that the ssl libraries are
loaded successfully however it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions??
