Disabling KPilot and KMobileTools in KDE-PIM

Howdy,

As discussed on the kde-pim ML and IRC, we have decided
to disable[1] the KPilot and KMobileTools builds for KDE 4.1.

Unfortunately, neither of these applications have received
the attention they deserve and are not, and will not, be in
a working state for the upcoming release.

We hope to restore them for KDE 4.2.

KPilot from the 3.5 code base should be in good shape,
and KMobileTools was never released with KDE-PIM previously.

[1] this means that I will be commenting out these projects from
the kdepim/CMakeLists.txt file.

As I suggested on kde-core-devel, I think libkipi should move to kdegraphics.

had to update kdebase and kdebindings. kdebase includes a fix in kmimetype
handling that would otherwise crash really often (4.0.5 regression) and
kdebindings was updated to compile against SIP 4.7.6

b3ba290cb675fbc4522704a39a503fe5 kdebase-4.0.5.tar.bz2
21126044fbe6d9357ce3c8c07b659c3a kdebindings-4.0.5.tar.bz2

Dirk

After a discussion among Gilles Caulier, Aurélien Gâteau, David Faure, Thiago
Macieira, Anne-Marie Mahfouf, and myself, that was the decision taken:
libkipi is now in kdegraphics for KDE 4.1.

KDE 4.0.81 snapshot uploaded

Hi,

I've just finished uploading the first snapshot after Beta1. it is from todays
SVN (r816093) and for the first time introduces kdeplasmoids module.

Please let me know of any issues.

Thanks,
Dirk

Hi,

Just a small note that if you make package from this set for kdepimlibs, you also need to grab a branch pull
from kdesupport/akonadi too. There has been a protocol change.

Decibel in review

Hi,

Since my request on k-c-d to the developers to either move it to playground or announce it at k-c-d for
inclusion is ignored. I wonder if it is ok if I move it back to playground myself. Opinions?

KDE 4.0.6 schedule

Hi,

contrary to our previous schedule of one month per patch release, I'd like to
delay 4.0.6 to the undefined future to not drag away ressources from KDE 4.1
schedule, which is way more important.

any objections to that plan?

Thanks,
Dirk

None from my side. Sounds sensible.
