Camp KDE hacking session and general IRC activity in #kde-promo

Hey all,

This is probably a long shot due to the time differences for most people but the Camp KDE hacking session is scheduled for 5pm PST on Monday evening.  Just wanted to mention this in case anyone is inclined to join us in the #kde-promo IRC channel during this time.   This may only be Wade and myself, but if we can get some of the fresh blood (i.e. random attendees) interested there may be more.  My goal is to try and hash out the promo sprint schedule a bit more during this time, as well as discuss general promo-related priorities and ideas.  Please join us if you can, but I will be sure to send anything we do related to the sprint back to the list for feedback.

Also, in general the #kde-promo IRC channel is relatively quiet but I promise to be there the entire time I have internet access while at Camp KDE and will be encouraging other people at the conference to jump in the channel as well so please join us Monday and Tuesday next week if you get the itch to see what's going on at the conference or want to discuss anything.

Last but not least, we will be posting all the talks on YouTube in near real time (I hope) so if anyone wants to help spread the word about this as they're posted it would be greatly appreciated.  I'll keep the group updated as this occurs, and we'll likely be trying to post some Dot articles at the conclusion of each day as well.

Thanks,
Justin

Promo guy in Randa 2011

Good morning

Just a short question which needs an answer asap (sorry ;-). Could one of you
guys come to Randa at the beginning of June?

If yes then please register asap at sprints.kde.org as we want to send the
estimated budget to the board on Monday.

And if there are any questions don't hesitate to ask.

thx
Mario

Man, I'd love to go but I'm definitely running short on vacation leave from work...probably wouldn't be cost effective coming from the States anyhow.  Hopefully someone from the other side of the pond can step up here.

When is it? I'm at the www sprint from 1-6 June. As far as I can see
on the sprints site, that is a clash

What are you after - promotion of/during the event, or someone from
promo to discuss promotion strategies etc? Likely someone on promo
might be able to help.

Cheers,
Stu

The first. Promotion, reports and the like.

As I do the budget tonight it would be great if you (all) could tell it this
evening...

thx

Dot story: Games sprint

Hi everyone,

it's been nearly two weeks since the Games Sprint, but there still
isn't a Dot article. Actually, I hoped to get some help from the other
participants because my time is fairly limited these days, but in the
end, I had to do the work myself. I've already written something that
can be used for the e.V.'s quarterly report [1] and which could also
serve as the basis for a dot article. Images from the sprint are in
the Git repo at [2].

I have near zero experience writing such articles in English, so if
someone could turn this into a nice article, that would be great.

Greetings
Stefan

Welcome to the harsh life of sprint organising - thankless as it is, you did
a nice job there in Dresden, so thanks there :)

i shall try to see what i can do with the text - the problem with my way of
writing is that, well, it really is my way of writing ;) But i'll try and not
make that too obvious here. It won't really need much work, though, from what
i can tell :)

Don't worry about polishing. There are several people on kde-promo and
the Dot who review and edit.

If you provide the content, we'll work with you on the rest.

Carl
