TechXNY Barter Offer

I recieved a response from the conference organizers. They are asking
for something in exchange, and ask for suggestions.

I don't like the idea of trading spam for a booth, but maybe there's
something else we can do? Put an ad on KDE.org? Write a dot
article? A joint press release? Just brainstorming ...

I need to do a bit more research and find out how big this conference
is and how much a booth costs for comparison purposes.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Mark- we'd love to work with you to get yur involved in TECHXNY.
Tell me what you are interested in- just having a booth on the show
floor? We can workout a barter agreement where the value nets out at
0. Please give me some ideasof what your group can offer in exchange
for the booth space. I see that youhave mailing lists- we'd love to
be able to promote the event to your mailinglists. How many
subscribers do you have?

We could put something in the hotspot, but other advertising is not an option.

Both of these sound cool.

How many page views a day does kde.org get? A week? What's the
trend?

Any idea on the total number of click throughs for the linux tag hot
spot? (and over what period?)

> > Write a dot article?

Similar questions--how many page views a day does the dot get? A
week? How many subscribers? Is traffic growing?

If you don't know, can you tell me who would?

Regards,

Mark

- you can list them in the sponsor page of www.kde.org, but they would
require more than just giving some space in a booth for that. Else, we
would have to list all the other expo we ever went to.

- you can propose to do a report on KDE & the expo afterwards and provide a
link to their website in the expo. It should bring them a lot of publicity.

It even looks like posting it on a few dedicated mailing lists may be able
to satisfy them. If you post it in the way like "KDE is going to have a
booth at exhibition and everybody is invited to join, I find it a perfectly
acceptable message for quite a few mailing list here".

Depends where you live (well at least it matters for pricing)

Check out:
http://www.kernelconcepts.de/products/kde/
http://www.kde.org/stuff/
http://www.cafeshops.com/kdegear

You need it for promoting KDE? Then contact a local KDE-group or else contact
Eva <eva <at> kde.org>

The embroidered KDE-shirts are not only for promotion, but for everybody. You
can order them at http://events.kde.org/registration. At
http://www.kernelconcepts.de/products/kde/ you get the same shirts, but KDE
receives a smaller amount as donation.
