Does KDE 4.x splash have a documentation?

I found a documentation about how to make a KDM theme on docs.kde.org.
However, I couldn't find one for KDE splash.

Where can I find one?

Small survey on bug/wishlist requests

First things first: I'm sorry if this message can be considered 
off-topic or spam. I had no other way of accessing this many open source 
software users in one swoop. Just ignore it if you think its spam.

Hi.

My name is Ricardo Ferreira and I've been a user of open source software 
for a long time and also a casual bug reporter and contributor.
I recently got an assignment for university and i thought about doing a 
survey on bug/wishlist requests and the software and artifacts used for 
their creation.

For that I've created a very small survey in surveymonkey.com which will 
only take 5 minutes at most to answer. It will really help me complete 
the assignment if you take the time to answer it.

The survey is only for those who have created at least one bug/wishlist 
report in one open source project.

Trees wont expand / collapse in some apps?

Has anyone else noticed that tree views no longer expand or collapse
properly with mouse clicks in some applications?

I first noticed this in Eclipse -  see this bug for a better write up
- https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=368297 - but now I
have also noticed that it impacts other applications like Handbrake.

Strangely, tree views still work properly in Dolphin.

Kmail passwords

Hi All

I have a problem that is annoyin to say the least  

I older versions of Kmail it would very happily store the mail passwords in 
the config file  now it does not althou i tell it to store them system versions 
as in sig block   but just in case 

KDE Development Platform: 4.7.4 (4.7.4)  64 bit 

every time i close down the system and restart it i have to re enter ALL the 
passwords for Kmail (thats 11 passwords)  . I do not like the Kwallet thing 
and do not wish to use it at all    how do i convince Kmail to behave

file manager is slow

Opening the file manager from firefox or chrome is very slow, tens of 
seconds,

 Opensuse 12.1 / 4.7.2 kde

Any misconfiguration of my kde desktop?
Any hints?

Klipper shortcut keys stopped working

Klipper Version v0.9.7
Using KDE Development Platform 4.7.3 (4.7.3)
FreeBSD-8.2 amd64

I recently updated KDE and suddenly the <CTRL><ALT><V> key
combination stopped working. I have tried doing everything I could
think of including a complete reboot of the system; however, the
problem still exists. I really need this working correctly. Does anyone
have any suggestions?

Could not start process. Cannot talk to klauncher. Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

Hello,

today, I just logged in to my system as I regularly do. Then that "Splash 
screen" while KDE starts up seemed to have frozen. After a click to this splash 
screen, I got a desktop with a error message as background (see Subject).

After two tries to log out the plasma desktop crashed with a segmentation fault. 
I tried to report that as bug using the wizard, but it only told me that the 
information is not interesting for sending this as a bug report.

As logging out failed, I killed X completely and restarted kdm. The next login 
worked well.

Is there some information logged to somewhere that could be interesting for you 
to find out if this is a known bug?

KDE 4.7 System Requirements

Hi Everybody,

I'm considering installing the KDE 4.7.4 version on my FreeBSD 8.2 system, and
I'd like to ask the community about the system requirements to make it run:

The base information for my system looks like this:

Intel P4 1.8 Ghz CPU
512 MB of RAM
Intel Onboard Graphics Chip

Can anybody on this list give me any pointers as to the performance of KDE under
the above hardware setup? Moreover, how much diskspace will KDE take?
