Plugin; TVWish

I just wanted to let anyone know that the TVwish plugin by Brad Templeton and
available at >http://www.templetons.com/brad/myth/tvwish.html> works with the
latest release of MythTV.

For those who do not now what it is, it is a Perl program that can be run from
Cron and basically uses a list of programs, movies, etc. that you define (or
can download) and searched your MythTV database for them and scheduled them
to record. It is very powerful with too many features to mention here. It
has already found a number of movies I would have missed, as I don;t always
have the time to go through my listing in MythWeb each day or every few days
to see what I'd like to record.

It would be great to have this sort of feature added/available as part of
MythWeb, or perhaps even the MythTV software itself, but I can live with it
as-is.

Just thought I would share.

kolab2 on 64bit machine

Hello Kolab users,

I'm trying to start kolab on my amd64 machine with Mandriva2007
I installed openpkg as described in kolab installation readme, then I
run /kolab/etc/kolab_bootstrap -b I get an error, that openldap could not be
conntacted, this is on the line which is:
/kolab/libexec/openldap/slapd 7 -h
ldap://127.0.0.1:389/ -f /kolab/etc/openldap/slapd.conf -u kolab -g kolab

Running it with -d 7, gives me the following among other output:
architecture lacks fast mutexes: applications cannot be threaded
bdb_db_open: Database cannot be opened, err 22. Restore from backup!

On the google I found
http://marc.info/?l=kolab-users&m=117347253612697&w=2
which says:

I followed http://www.openpkg.org/documentation/quickref/openpkg-usr.php link
about repackaging these packages, but it was first time I did it, so I'm not
sure about that.
I got new rpms in the /kolab/RPM/ folder, and installed those 3 packages with
command

Kolab Horde and SyncML

Hello all

one of the big problem/benefits of a groupware, like Kolab, is to keep sync
tha data (calendar, contacts, mail, ...) with the greater possible number of
devices like PC Desktop, Notebook, mobile phone or palm, Webmail, etc etc.

For example, i have to keep sync my PC Desktop (KDE PIM), my notebook (KDE
PIM), my mobile phone (Nokia Communicator 9500), and in emergency case i use
the web with Horde in order to try a telephone number.

With the SyncML protocol i can make that!

Indirectly i can sync my nokia with kolab through SyncML, infact with the
opensync tool http://www.opensync.org/ i can sync my KDE Kontact with the
SyncML client that the phone have.

Also Horde is a SyncML client/server. And i sync my phone with horde.

Why not to use the horde SyncML support for sync Kolab with all devices that
supports the SyncML protocol instaed of developing dedicate plugins? Or the
opensynctool with KDE PIM (improvedi in KDE PIM Enterprise Branch?) ?

In the horde-groupware from horde.org SyncML work fine. But in the kolab by
Gunnnar packages i'm not able to sync my phone with horde.

Why not improve the SyncML support for Kolab?

Funambol? In "only" a SyncML server!

Thanks.

WebDAV support

Hello everyone,

I read that Horde supports WebDAV. On the Horde homepage there is a Documentation, how to connect
Thunderbird lightning withHorde. Is this also possible with the CVS Version? Will it give in Kolab
support for WebDAV?

best regards,
Hakan

Re: kolab2 on 64bit machine

Hello,

I will try to reply to myself, since I have passed this problem myself. I did
some ( two nights :) ) googling and find a patch file to be executed on
db.spec file. Here it is:
--- db.spec.orig        2006-10-12 21:38:59.000000000 +0200
+++ db.spec     2006-10-12 23:02:42.000000000 +0200
 <at>  <at>  -24,7 +24,7  <at>  <at>

 #   package version
 %define       V_version  4.3.29
-%define       V_revision 0
+%define       V_revision 0kolab

 #   package information
 Name:         db
 <at>  <at>  -89,6 +89,7  <at>  <at>  AutoReqProv:  no
     mutex="no"
     case "%{l_platform -p}" in
         ix86-*   ) mutex="x86/gcc-assembly"   ;;
+        amd64-*  ) mutex="x86/gcc-assembly"   ;;
         ia64-*   ) mutex="ia64/gcc-assembly"  ;;
         sparc*-* ) mutex="Sparc/gcc-assembly" ;;
         ppc*-*   ) mutex="PPC/gcc-assembly"   ;;

I don't remember who have made this file and there I found it, but I think
this helped me. I did every thing as I described in my previous post and
apllied this patch.to db4. I don't know why (maybe because one eye was on the
European basketball championship), but at first it didn't work. This morning
i tried the same steps once more ( you know .... just in case) and it

this is possible if you use Horde CVS just not when you use it
together with Kolab.

It is the same as with SyncML: The functionality is being provided by
Horde but we did not debug it yet so that it works together with
Kolab. We are still focused on the core functionality in Horde.

The necessary fixes are probably rather minor but you'd need to hack
some PHP to get the stuff corrected. Patches are definitely welcome!

Cheers,

Gunnar

LDAP Adressbook

Hello *,

IŽm very happy that this listing exist and hope that anyone can answer me.
We installed the actual kolab-server (2.x) on a Suse and make a connection via the toltec-connector.
Now we want to use the Kolab-Adressbook as a LDAP-Adressbook in Outlook. Therefore we bouht a few
Toltec-LDAP-Licenses and connected it.
Now we have a lookup to the internal Kolab-Users. Is it possible to connect to the kolab-adressbook. I think
I have to change something in the Base-String, but donŽt know what.
Actually we set dc=mycomanpany,dc=local and that shows only the "users".

Best regards
Marc
