Please be aware of the fact that shared folders are only fully supported on
the upcoming next stable version of KDE or current CVS.

This is a limitation of your old kmail.

Sending mails via Kolab is normale sending via smtp. Nothing special except
that we prefer authenticated smtp and TLS.

(Did you try the smtp test feature when setting up the account?)

I very much agree! I think that simply offering the cvs stuff is not enough.
We should offer our internal packages to the world.

E.g. I have put a full SUSE 9.1 environment on
http://www.erfrakon.de/projects/kolab/download/testing/kolab2/kolab-SUSE-91.tar.bz2

> they would take your offer to create a website.

We _very_ much require help with the website. There is no doubt that the
current website is a big mess with all these cyclic references etc.

What kind of proposal for a new website is available?

why does it have to be tied to any particular distribution?
What about this kind of setup:

kolab/
kolab/postfix/
kolab/apache/
kolab/openldap/
kolab/webconfig/
...

Where you might or might not have the included subpackages. And ofc.
one makefile

kontact cannot import adresses out ldap

Hi,

I cannot import (inKontact) my adresses from my LDAP directory.
I get the message:
unknown host:linuxserver.linux.local:389

but the linuxserver is known because the maildelivary and sending are working. And my DNS is also functioning good.
tnx

Shared folders gives everyone access

Hello

When creating shared folders using the Kolab webinterface it assigns everyone
read access and from the webinterface this cannot be revoked, is this by
design?

What is a group of users wants a shared folder just for themselves?

Os is the thinking that the ones created using the Webint is for all users and
others should be shared using KMail itself?

This is just an offer for SUSE 9.1 users so that they can easily bootstrap.

Please have a look at ftp.zfos.org and the obmtool. Actually if you look
closely into the provived tar ball you will notive that it already contains a
generic obmtool and obmtool.conf.

I am not convinced that a wiki is the best technology for this purpose.

Accessing the Kolab Addressbook

Hello

I am trying to configure Kontact 0.9 to use the Adressbook on the Kolab
server, I have the email domain foo.bar.com so I assumed the base DN was
dc=foo,dc=bar,dc=com but I cannot see any addresses in Kontact coming from
that LDAP server, I configured the KDE resource for LDAP.

I have successfully used other LDAP servers so I am assuming some DN mojo is
needed.

any ideas would be much helpful.

The functionality you are looking for is part of Kolab 2.0.
