New brush set for Krita?

Okay, first off, sorry for disappearing when I said
I'd help organize for a new website. Something came
up during the summer. I'll try to ease back in.

That said, Filsd created a new default brush set for Gimp:

The Gimp developers don't seem to care, unfortunately. 

But Krita could make use of them, especially since Gimp's
old brush set isn't very useful for painting effects.

(By the way, will Krita 2 allow resizing of all brushes?
This brush set was made with in-program resizing in mind)

Krita use the create ressources package now, and therefor it should be added 
to the create package (I will contact its maintainers ( if I don't forget 
about it) ).

Not 2.0. Except throught pressure.

Applications Status

Hi,

Starting with beta1, I will remove from the released tarball applications or 
plugins that are *not* going to be part of 2.0 final, so I have made a list 
of applications that will be in, and those that won't be in:

Can you check that I haven't missed anything ? Or made a mistake.

There are a few unknow:
 * kchart (the apps not the shape), there were discution between Johannes and 
Inge wether the application will be ready
 * kformula (the shape) is it usuable ? It doesn't look like it is the case to 
me

I'm on the train now, but if my recollection is correct, I would very much 
like to use that brush set instead of the current jumble sale set. I'm also 
looking into making it possible to categorize brush sets -- that is something 
the gimp brush format actually doesn't provide for.

At one point, yes. I'm quite far along with brush/preset refactor we discussed 
in March, and the result of this refactoring is that it will be really easy to 
implement brush resizing by scrollwheel or [] keys or pen tilt or things like 
that.

I've added downloading the brush set to my todo.

I can confirm that we don't intend to provide a kchart application for 2.0.

I do think it should be part of koffice in the long run, though, not the least 
because there is a .odc file type, and we need to be able to handle it.

New maintainer for KChart

Hi everybody,

As you may all know by now, I have just acquired gastric catarrh, and I don't 
want to relive that experience.  So what I need to do in my life is to:

 - Cut down on coffee and spicy food
 - Have less stress
 - Sleep more regularly, and above all more

The last one is the one that really bites me.  So I had a short discussion 
with Johannes Simon today and he agreed to take over the maintainership for 
KChart. I will still help out with some programming on it, and of course also 
the rest of KOffice.

This leaves me more time to do something that has been really left behind: 
promoting KOffice with texts and talks. Especially around release time, it's 
difficult to do frantic bugfixing and producing good texts at the same time.  
It also fits nicely into Cyrille's idea that "the production of the release 
documents has to be refactored" that I read on IRC the other day.

So from now on Johannes Simon is the new maintainer of KChart. And to be 
honest, it's thanks to him that kchart is as good as it is today. He did most 
of the job the last year, I was only involved in the design decisions and 
some minor development.

Hmmm, can't find kplato...
Well, atm I don't know which list it should be on, I haven't been able to put 
in any kind of consistent work lately, and I don't know if things will 
improve. I still *hope* it'll be enough for a release so if it's ok with you, 
could you include kplato until all hope is lost?

Congrats to Johannes for the promotion, even if it is done in such 
circonstances, it's a well deserved one.

I hope you didn't take that sentence personnaly, because that wasn't the goal, 
in fact, I was more blaming myself for allways doing everything last minute.

Oups sorry, I forgot to mention kplato, so sure it's ok, I think it's in 
pretty good shape (at least with the little playing I did recently on it). 
You still have some times for bug fixing, the final release will be sometime 
in December.
