I have not registered yet, but i'm willing to mentor a Karbon related 
project (i.e. the calligraphy tool). I was a little bit concerned about 
the private data i have to fill in. Do i have to register in advance or 
is it enough if i register when the a Karbon related project is approved?

Yeah, that sucks. On the other hand, unless you really care for you tee-shirt,

The total number of slots KDE gets is dependent on the number of registered
mentors, though.

I seem to remember having read that it did influence the decision in the kde-soc
mailing list. But no doubt I'm mistaken if you're sure.

I guess numbers of mentors are just a part of the calculation they do. Other 
parts may the numberof proposals, the quality of those proposals, 
commit-statistics, lines of code, etc. etc. Would make more sense to me if 
they don't just count the number of mentors and assign slots to them.

our proposals:

2.  Converting the old KPresenter format KPR to ODF
3.  Notes and Presenter View Support for KPresenter
4.  Turn KPresenter into the optimal tool for doing (bike) tour presentations

5.  Workspaces capabilities for Krita
6.  Real-media airbrush and calligraphy simulation paint operations in Krita
7.  Sumi-e brush engine for Krita

8.  Improve KWord MS Word filter
9.  KWord: Collaborative editing of documents over a network
10. Improving KWord Open Document Support
11. Improve ISO OpenDocument support

12. Calligraphy support in Karbon

13. MathML support for koffice, kalgebra and konqueror/webkit

14. Proposal for Toolbox and Palette Interaction for KOffice, Project 4

Just updated the doc with [1] 'xBase migration plugin for Kexi'.

Someone has added 'Improve Kexi Data Import/Export' app there, but I have 
removed it: the student (unlike students offering [1] and the Web Forms) has 
not contacted anyone from KOffice to discuss details, what's not good, 
assuming he's interested in rather hard topic (HSQLDB migration).
