Hello, artists! Any takers? :-)

Okay, I promised a preview, here it is:
http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/1610/penguincardpreview.png

I'd also like an opinion: should the face cards use a "simplified"
version of Tux (I am thinking specifically, less shading, more outlines,
i.e. more like the suit glyphs and numbers)? If yes, I can handle the
missing elements (bonnet/hair/whatever for the queen, crown for the
king). If no, I would appreciate if some other aspiring artist that has
a better shot of matching the style of the Tux graphics could take a shot.

In the above preview, I intentionally left some of the old PNG versions
to show what I mean about the change in style of the face cards. (As far
as progress, I basically have completed what you see, plus the diamond
face cards, and I have the club glyph. Most of the work however is
boring stuff; using the text tool, and a LOT of making and positioning
clones. Other than the added elements that distinguish the king/queen
from the jack, the art is all completed and just needs assembling.)

Here's what it looks like with "simplified Tux":

TBH I think I prefer this (more accurate to the original). Other opinions?

(I also did the missing crown/bonnet; fans of the Paris deck may
recognize the latter :-).)

Re: [kde-artists] [Bug 190137] New: Missing icons for Aki

Keith,

I noticed your bug report and came up with an idea for an app icon. Please take a look at the attachment and let me know if this is what you had in mind, or if you had a different idea (the 22x22 and 16x16 pixel icons will probably need a bit more work, as the text is a bit hard to read). I'll also take a look into creating the other icons (if you don't already have other offers). Thanks!

Aki recently recently was added to trunk/playground/network. But is missing a
standard svg application icon. Currently Aki has one but doesn't conform to the
svg rule. Is requesting for an svg application icon with the kanji text which
Aki (autumn) '秋' in Japanese. And missing icons for the NickView and requesting
different coloured orbs for indicating user's modes (blue) for operator,
(purple) for voice, (orange) for half ops, (grey) for away, (light grey) for
normal users.

Personally, as I've said before I would prefer this became a first-class
icon. (It's supposed to be on the official list of icons needed for
KDevelop, even.)

[kde-artists] Can I use oxygen icons in my own application?

Hello,

i developed an application using PyQt4 and i needed some icons.
I asked on IRC a while ago and they thought it was okay if I use the Oxygen
Icon Set. But now I want to make it a little bit more official:

Is it okay for you if i copy some icons to my application?
This application is completely open source (released under the GNU GPL)
I'll mention the KDE Artwork team in a "Credits" page.

The website is currently under construction (Project page on SF.net :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/series60-remote , Website: series60-
remote.sf.net ), but some screenshots are located here:
http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157475 (The icons
look really great.. ;) Thanks to all artists)

I'm looking forward to your reply,
Lukas Hetzenecker

Looks like this has been resolved. Attached are a couple screenshots showing

[kde-artists] oxygen cards

What is the copyright on the oxygen card used in kpatience.  They have a black or red background with silver foreground.  Is there any possibility of having them released into the open clipart library?
