Re: [jetty-user] Configuring a SslContextFactory from an input stream

Simone and I had a conversation about this a while ago, and decided that it is best to use Resource classes for this purpose, instead of using the stream directly.

Re: [jetty-user] Configuring a SslContextFactory from an input stream

I don't understand how to create a Resource from a stream. I only see static builders that take files or names.  What am I missing?

[jetty-user] Released: Jetty 7.5.2.v20111006 and 8.0.2.v20111006

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Jetty
7.5.2.v20111006 and 8.0.2.v20111006.

All artifacts are present in maven central and are also available from
the normal download locations at eclipse and codehaus.

Deb and rpm artifacts for these builds that incorporate the
jetty-hightide distribution. These are also in maven central under
the org.mortbay.jetty.dist:jetty-deb and
org.mortbay.jetty.dist:jetty-rpm coordinates or also from the codehaus
downloads directory.

These releases contain some important fixes for some 100% cpu type
issues we have had increasing reports of with newer IE browsers. We
are also starting to consider deprecating the jetty-hightide
distribution in favor of supporting just the jetty-distribution as it
exists within eclipse. Feedback on that is welcome :)

The list of issues resolved follow at the tail end of this mail.

cheers,
jesse

[jetty-user] Re: [jetty-users] NoSuchMethodError after update to jetty 8.0.2

I don't believe it ... the glassfish project published the jstl-api jars containing duplicate javax.servlet 2.5 api classes! I have found a different jstl-api jar to use that does not contain duplicate classes and fixed it. This is the bug for it:

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JETTY-1440

I've also pushed a snapshot of the jetty maven plugin 8.0.3-SNAPSHOT, which you should be able to use if you get it from the sonatype snapshot repo:

https://oss.sonatype.org/content/groups/jetty/org/mortbay/jetty/jetty-maven-plugin/

Re: [jetty-user] Configuring a SslContextFactory from an input stream

Hey everyone - I'm still waiting on a response to this.  Ideas on building a resource from a stream?  In theory, I'd like to implement Michael's idea, but I am not certain how to proceed.

[jetty-user] jetty WebSockets in Tomcat

Hello everybody!

I have a WebSocket(Servlet) communication setup with Jetty that
I am trying to embed into Tomcat. I register the Jetty
WebSocketServlet with
Tomcat through the equinox servletbridge in the hope of being able to
use
Tomcat, yet implement a WebSocket server-side on the same tcp port.

Should it be possible (by design?) to be able to use the jetty
WebSocket implementation
with a non-jetty servlet container?

I am stuck here at a NullPointerException in the
WebSocketFactory.upgrade:197 method:

        HttpConnection http = HttpConnection.getCurrentConnection();
        ConnectedEndPoint endp =
(ConnectedEndPoint)http.getEndPoint();

which looks to me as it expects the jetty embedded webserver
(HttpConnection
is part of jetty).

Is there any support planned into this direction/even possible? I
think this might
be useful for a broader group of users, as I didn't find any signs of
Tomcat
implementing WebSockets..

I am using the respectively most recent versions:
 Tomcat 7.0.22
 Jetty 8.0.4

Best Regards,
Thomas
