Anthill Build failing

Hi All,
 
I am reveving the below error while trying to build. I know the details below are kind of less to pinpoint the problem but that's all I receive in the logs. I can try finding out more details if anyone can suggest what might be the problem looking at the error messages below.
 

Anthill version 1.8.0.264

Retrieving project files: OK

FAILED to build project. Message: ProfileAdapter prepareForEdit failed: 127

FAILED to get revision list. Message: cvs log failed. Exit code: 127

I've received something similar when Anthill could not access the machine holding CVS at the time of the build. Try running the build again, and if it fails with the same message, see if you can access CVS from the build machine.

Hi Jeff,
 
I can access the repository from the build machine. I tried running the build again but it fails with the same message. I am not sure if something in the script which tries to retrieve revision lists or something else needs to be changed. Please help!

Is this the first time you set up the build for this project? Has it successfully worked in the past? Two areas I'd focus on are:

  • an intermittent network problem
  • a client-side CVS configuration problem
Are the messages you posted the only lines in the log from Anthill? They don't provide much context.

Try to mimic exactly what Anthill is doing by checking its output in the Tomcat logs, then running each command yourself. Make sure you do this as the same user who runs Tomcat, in case you might have permission to check out of CVS, but the Tomcat user does not. Also make sure your project has a Version.txt file (or whatever you told AnthillOS to use), and the Tomcat user has permission to update it.

You might also want to look at your tomcat log(s). Often you can get more information on this type of failure there.

I've received something similar when Anthill could not access the machine holding CVS at the time of the build. Try running the build again, and if it fails with the same message, see if you can access CVS from the build machine.
