How about this: versioning.html -- with a couple of add ons: build.xml and
manifest.template.

Dead projects

There seems to be a process for creating new projects but what about
removing projects that have lost their community. Can a project ever be
removed from jakarta? Under what conditions should a project be declared
dead (as opposed to being mostly feature complete).

Re: FW: Managing versions of Apache Jakarta software

There was already a versioning page, so I made this packageversioning
instead.

http://jakarta.apache.org/site/packageversioning.html

It's not linked into the rest of the site yet, except for the Guides
outline, which is also in draft form

http://jakarta.apache.org/site/guides.html

(at the Release Manager's Guide). But it is now under CVS for discussion
purposes.

The best thing is to submit XML, like the other source pages for
Jakarta-site2, and run the build to be sure it renders

http://jakarta.apache.org/site/jakarta-site2.html

Thank you for your contibution.

-Ted.

Re: [VOTE] Switching development to C#

And I'd like to thank Sam Ruby for showing me the light.

Any plans to port Maven to C#?

If you remove a project which has lost a community, it will never have the
ability to gain a community back.

If there was a project which you wish there was a community for, then there
is your itch. :-)

The most I think one could do is 'relegate' a project to the commons.

Request information for setting up a new CVS top level repository

Hi,

I am trying to find out what the policy or guidelines are for setting up a
new top level CVS repository.

I am a committer to the Jakarta-Lucene project and would like to setup
Jakarta-Lucene-Sandbox repository.

Who is the correct person to make this request to?

Thanks

[VOTE] Switching development to C#

Having become convinced by Andy that C# and .NET are the wave of the
future, I'm proposing that we switch poi development to C#.

To the Jakarta community at large: will this affect our status as a
Jakarta project? I mean, I can see where a lot of projects are
eventually going to follow this same path ...
