Tja. Det bør antagelig luftes på epostlista for samiskoversettelser,
i18n-sme <at> lister.ping.uio.no,
<URL: https://lister.ping.uio.no/mailman/lister.ping.uio.no/listinfo/i18n-sme >.
CC dit.

Spørsmålet fraer hva som burde oversettes til samisk av programmer i
Skolelinux.

Mine første forslag ville være

 debian-installer (aka installasjonssystemet)
 iceweasel/firefox
 KDE (i hvert fall kdebase)
 gcompris
 libreoffice
 scratch
 rosegarden

Andre vil antagelig prioritere annerledes.

Mvh,

Thomas Gramstad

debian-installer: new string introduced in cdebconf, please update sublevel 6

Hi,

A new string has been lately introduced in cdebconf.

This is a very simple translation as the string is '%c' (with quotes).
It is meant for the speech synthesis engine.

Please translate it as soon as possible. Be careful to use the quotes
that are typographically valid for your language.

There is no strict deadline but, as this is a 10 seconds work, please
do it as soon as possible.

As usual, please try to commit the file yourself or have it committed
by someone from your languageteam. Sending me the file for commit
induces a significant work as there are already many people who have
no other alternative.

So, please send the file to me ONLY if you have no other option.

Thanks in advance,

Kubuntu Launchpad Translations upstream and downstream to KDE

My question: Hi, the Ubuntu Northern Saami Translators team https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-se has been working on translatable templates. Could these be reported upstream to KDE? Then when complete enough latter downstream to Debian?

I also see that it is recommended to be in KDE mailing lists which I'm not. I work mainly with Launchpad but also read: "Note: There are some web pages (like Launchpad Translations) that allow to translate KDE software. You should not use them since those translations are not shared with the rest of the community. If in doubt, please do not hesitate to mail the kde-i18n-doc mailing list."

See also: Debian Bug report logs - #627991 RFP: kde-l10n-se -- Northern Sami (se) localization files for KDE http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=627991

Best regards,
Christopher

Automatic translation for sami languages?

Hi. The last few days I have looked at machine translation, to see if
it can speed up the translation work in Skolelinux, and one interesting
tool is Apertium, <URL: http://www.apertium.org/ >.

Kevin Brubeck Undhammer already added nb->nn and nn->nb translation, and
it seem to work fairly well. Are anyone here working in the sami
language communinty to add suppoort for any of the sami languages in
Apertium?

I found <URL: http://xixona.dlsi.ua.es/testing/ > which include North
Sami to Lule Sami, and also
<URL: http://donchaknow.com/blog/google-summer-code-apertium-finnish-northern-sami/ >
talking about Finnish to Nothern Sami translation.

Anyone have any experience with machine translation for the sami
langauges? Is it useful?

debian-installer: Please update debconf PO translation for the package debian-installer

Hi,

This is a very wide call for translation updates for Debian Installer
sublevel 1. Some of you may have been pinged already and may even have
answered. If so, sorry for this, but this call also targets past
translators that were no longer mentioned in the PO files headers
(most of the time as an obvious error).

We are now a few months (if not weeks) before the planned freeze of
Debian. It's time for me to shake the tree more and more strongly to
get Installer translations in.

For several of you, it's probably early in your opinion but, believe
me, it takes a LOT of time to get 70 translations in.

So, pretty please, take time to update (again, eventually) your
translation. Attached is the "sublevel 4" file.

These messages belong to less popular features in Debian Installer
that are often chosen only in "expert" installs. I recommend
translating it for those people who really want a complete coverage of
their language in D-I, but it is much less critical than sublevels 1
to 3.

If you want to complete it, just complete the attached PO file and
commit it back to D-I SVN for those of you who have commit access.
Otherwise, please send it back to me. To avoid my spam filters, please
user "christian+WHITELIST <at> perrier.eu.org" as mail address, preferrably
(don't use the "+WHITELIST" trick with my Debian address, though).

Please notice that you will get notices for sublevel 5, too.
Sorry for nearly spamming you, but you know how crazy I can be about
bringing the entire world to the heaven of Hundredpercentiness...:-)

debian-installer: Please update debconf PO translation for the package debian-installer

Hi,

This is a very wide call for translation updates for Debian Installer
sublevel 3. Some of you may have been pinged already and may even have
answered. If so, sorry for this, but this call also targets past
translators that were no longer mentioned in the PO files headers
(most of the time as an obvious error).

We are now a few months (if not weeks) before the planned freeze of

So, pretty please, take time to update (again, eventually) your
translation. Attached is the "sublevel 3" file. Remaining messages,
not in sublevels 1 and 2, for popular architectures and features (but
messages not appearing in default installs).

Translating this file is important for a good coverage of your
language in the Debian Installer, even if not critical.

If you want to complete it, just complete the attached PO file and
commit it back to D-I SVN for those of you who have commit access.
Otherwise, please send it back to me. To avoid my spam filters, please

debian-installer: Please update debconf PO translation for the package debian-installer

Hi,

This is a very wide call for translation updates for Debian Installer

debian-edu-install 1.522~svn75033: Please update debconf PO translation for the package debian-edu-install

Hi,

You are noted as the last translator of the debconf translation for
debian-edu-install. The English template has been changed, and now some messages
are marked "fuzzy" in your translation or are missing.
I would be grateful if you could take the time and update it.
Please submit the updated file as a wishlist bug against
debian-edu-install.

The deadline for receiving the updated translation is
Wed, 29 Feb 2012 11:26:47 +0100.

Thanks in advance,
