Design principles for visual communication

Colleagues,

I thought this research could be interesting for those who like to design  pictorial instructions, maps and anatomy charts:
"Design principles for visual communication" by
Maneesh Agrawala (University of California, Berkeley)
Wilmot Li  (Adobe Systems Inc., San Francisco, CA)
Floraine Berthouzoz (University of California, Berkeley).

Thanks, José.

I am *so* sorry to hear of Paul's passing.

Over the years, he has helped me out several times, and I shall very
much miss his trenchant commentary and encouragement.
