Welcome to The 5th Information Design International Conference!
We are pleased to announce The 5th Information Design International
Conference, which, is a joint event with The 4th Brazilian Conference of
Information Design and The 5th Information Design Student Conference
[CONGIC]. The formers are scientific events promoted every two years by
the SBDI - The Brazilian Society of Information Design and they aim at
gathering professionals, researchers and students to discuss information
design issues. The Congic | Information Design Student Conference, on
the other hand, is a scientific event addressed to students and recently
graduated professionals who have developed research in this field. The
combined promotion of the events constitutes an advantageous opportunity
for intellectual collaboration among researchers, professionals and
students from Brazil and abroad. We will be delighted to have you
attending these events!
Themes The submission of papers for the three events shall be in
accordance with the following themes: Education: aspects and issues
regarding the role of information design in education. Studies about
information design programmes in higher education, educational material,
methods and approaches for teaching and learning within an information
design perspective are sought. History and Theory: historical and/or
theoretical approaches and contributions to information design.
Researches on early information design and designers, proposals of
taxonomies, frameworks and models are appreciated. Technology and
Society: aspects and issues of information design concerning the use of
technology by individuals and/or its effects on society. Researches on
topics such as human-computer interaction, hypermedia design,
broadcasting design are welcome. Information Systems and Communication:
the effectiveness of information systems in communicating messages.
Investigations on instructional design, wayfinding information, sign
systems, graphic symbols, and forms design are gladly received.
Call for Papers You may submit your article for presentation (a) as
poster or (b) as paper on the Conference themes. We encourage authors to
submit ongoing research in poster format. Papers proposals should be
submitted electronically to the 5th Information Design International
Conference as long abstracts (500 to 1000 words plus references) via the
JEMS system (
https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/). Authors submitting
proposals should follow the guidelines for paper submission. We look
forward to receiving your proposal! Authors who had their abstracts
approved to the conference will be asked to send the full paper version
by May 31st. The full papers will be published in the Conference
e-Proceedings (ISBN publication).

The Book of Selected Readings and The Brazilian Journal of Information
Design Papers that reached the highest scores by the referees of the 5th
Information Design International Conference may be selected by a special
editorial jury for publication in the book of Selected Readings of the
Information Design International Conference (ISBN publication) together
with the keynotes papers, or may be selected to the InfoDesign - The
Brazilian Journal of Information Design (
www.infodesign.org.br). Authors
will be contacted to give authorization for publication in a date to be
announced.
