Boa inspector window

Hi everyone.

Being new to Boa - can anyone tell me why some items in the inspector window (constr, props etc) have a
checkbox in front of them (and what happens if you uncheck them for instance), and why some are bold?

Best regards,
bragn

Just click on a checkbox, it won't bite you:-P.

On a more serious note; if you "un-check" e.g. Style Boa will show you
all the valid style flags for the selected control. Or for position it
allows you to enter the values for x and y.

Note that size still has a check mark, this is a hang over from wxPython
2.4 or earlier when one defined it as two values.

Frankly I am not sure about Bold, I think it indicates that it is a
value which has to be set for this control.

See you
Werner

mac menubar kludge

I wanted to revisit an item I raised a couple of months ago re Boa
generated code that I had to patch to get to work on Mac OS/X.

Basically it involves moving the self.SetMenuBar(self.menubar) call.

I don't have a Mac and I haven't rerun the unpatched version on a Mac
(both versions work on MS Windows and Linux).

Is there anyone here with a Mac who could verify this please? I would
have thought anyone who uses Boa on a Mac would have bumped into this so
it is a little strange that no one else has mentioned it (as far as I know).

Print when selecting pref

When doing the following Boa crashes - can anyone reproduce this?

- Open a source file
- Select the Print icon on the Editor Toolbar
- Click on Print Setup
- Select Landscape
- Click OK
- Click Print (actually at this point you can click on Print, Print
Preview or Print Setup and it crashes).

I am on WinXP Pro SP1, wxPython 2.5.5.0 pre and Python 2.4

See you
Werner

Re: Print when selecting pref

Hi Olivier,

Had a crash in wx.lib.plot.py and got a patch from Robin, applying same
technic seems to fix the Boa crash.

I attached a diff as a patch file.

Getting variable to and from dialogs

I have a basic question. I have a main Frame for my application. I have made a Dialog to enter different set up
values. I pass the values to the dialog when i create it and take them back before i destroy it. is there a
different way to do this?

What is the best way to get values to and from a dialog?

Re: Getting variable to and from dialogs

Hi Folks,

First let me just say I think Boa is great, I've been using it for a few
weeks now and will definitely keep on using it.

However, there's one problem that's slowly driving me up the wall at the
moment, and that is very often when I open a file in Boa, I get a
warning about mixed EOLs. All these files have been edited only under
WinXP, and mostly just in Boa itself, so I see absolutely no reason that
there should be any non-Windows EOLs in any of my files.
Having scanned the mailing list archive, it seems there was some problem
with EOLs in the past, which seems to have been fixed - until now. I
couldn't find any setting to force Boa to use Windows EOLs, or to turn
off the warning. Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks for any help,

Robin.
