Boa install problem - Fedora 2

I have been running Boa under Windows for a while.
I recently installed Fedora 2 and would like to run Boa there.

However, I understand that Boa will not (yet) run with wxPython 2.5
The binaries for wxPython 2.4 are not available for Fedora 2
The source rpm for wxPython 2.4 will not rebuild properly on Fedora 2 (I get
an error saying the GTK+ libraries can't be found).

From articles I read, it appears that a patch needs to be applied to the
wxPython 2.4 src rpm to make the build work under Fedora 2.

Is this correct? Is such a patch available? Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I upgraded my SuSE Linux box to the new 9.2 release today, which is based on GTK
2.4. After that, wxWindows/Python would not run because of unresoved symbols.
After some investigation I went ahead and backported the (few) code lines in
question from the 2.5.2.8 release back into the 2.4.2.4 which is required by
boa. Rebuilt and installed from source and all is well.

If anyone cares I will post the 2 affected files

Problems with wxMaskedNumCtrl


Hi everybody

Using a wxMaskedNumCtrl (Palette, wxPython.lib tab),
attempting to set the integerWidth and/or
fractionWidth properties results in error. Attempting
to set both of these props programatically, results in
error too.
The control's demo in wxPython's demo app works
properly.
What to do?

Segmentation fault in designer

Hello, boa-constructor-users.

I'm getting segfault in Designer when I add Menubar object into 
BoxSizer's window list (accidentally, i know that my actions are wrong 
but there must be warning window, not segfault ;)):

Designer > Add boxsizer > sizer's editor > add item > in Inspector, on 
'Constr' tab, in 'window' field select existing menubar.

Another remark:
Size of splash window is lesser than splash image. Therefore, splash 
window has (ugly) scrollbars.

My system: boa-constructor 0.3.1, wxPython 2.4.2.4 (gtk2, no unicode), 
python 2.3.4, linux.
