RC2?

Hi,

we should really try to get at least a second release candidate out.
Is there anything that currently keeps us from doing so?

Jan.

MIMP needs to be able to use the MailboxCache code - right now flags
get very out of sync if you use it and IMP at the same time. Since I
usually leave IMP running on my desktop, that's pretty much all the
time. I imagine it's similar for others who use mobile access.

And how about users that will use MIMP with mailbox cache but the old
IMP, which are the majority because IMP with mailbox cache is not
released yet? Or is this only an issue as long as you keep logged in
while using both?
Anyway, I think this is not a problem for the release version, we
should release MIMP 1.1 with mailbox cache at the same time we release
IMP 4.2 though.

Okay, that makes sense.

Michael, any objections from your side?

Sorry for the delay in responding to this...

Sounds fine. current CVS seems to be pretty stable so I agree that
adding anything for RC2 is not a great idea. As far as the future - I
was kind of hoping there would be no MIMP 1.1 release and that we
would somehow fold mimp into imp by then. But maybe that is a pie in
the sky dream.

I have some time this morning so I will roll a RC2 release.

I don't think it's unreasonable; at some point we'll want to seperate
out the bits of IMP that both DIMP and MIMP use (okay, this naming
scheme is cute but it is getting awkward ;) so that people don't
_really_ need IMP just to run the mobile version, etc. But _that_ part
can definitely wait.

Also, it's not pie-in-the-sky to say we'll do it for MIMP 1.1; we can
just say there won't be a standalone MIMP 1.1. Done. :)

Oh, and I think we _should_ do this; the code that has to be merged to
MIMP from IMP is enough already.

MIMP H3 (1.0-RC2)

The Horde Team is pleased to announce the second release candidate of the MIMP
Webmail Client version H3 (1.0-RC2).

MIMP is a project to create a version of IMP suitable for mobile devices such
as WAP phones or PDAs. Basic IMP functionality is implemented including mailbox
viewing and paging, viewing messages, deleting, replying, forwarding, and
composing new messages.

This is a preview version that should not be used on production
systems. This version is considered feature complete but a few bugs may still
exist in the code.

We encourage widespread testing and feedback via the mailing lists or our bug
tracking system. Updated translations are very welcome, though some strings
will still change before the final release.

The MIMP H3 (1.0-RC2) distribution is available from the following locations:

    ftp://ftp.horde.org/pub/mimp/mimp-h3-1.0-rc2.tar.gz
    http://ftp.horde.org/pub/mimp/mimp-h3-1.0-rc2.tar.gz

Or, for quicker access, download from your nearest mirror:

    http://www.horde.org/mirrors.php

MD5 sums for the packages are as follows:

    50e59d50ae47967b9656ef9973678f06 mimp-h3-1.0-rc2.tar.gz

Have fun!

MIMP without IMP athentification

Hi,

I have some problem to connect the mimp module.

I tried to connect directlu my mimp module but it
stills asks for IMP Authentification ( my default
authentification).

I want to use simultaniously my Webmail and Wap to
view my messages.

What is the way to active mimp without imp
authentification?

Thanks,
TAGE
