MIME types problems

Using horde-webmail-1.2.4, I'm experiencing an issue with certain MIME
types (.dwg files from Autocad) that get attached and sent as text/plain
rather than their real type. I've played with the usual /etc/mime.types
and adding types to Apache's configuration but so far, I've been unable
to get IMP/DIMP to recognize the file type correctly. Swinging in the
dark, I've played with config/mime_drivers.php too.

On the server side, I've duplicated this on Debian 5.0.3 and RHEL 5.4
with the standard Apache and PHP packages. Clients Firefox, IE7 and IE8
on Windows and Firefox on Linux all behave the same.

Any pointers?

Thanks,
 John

We had similar problems on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS some time ago.

This solved it for us (taken from an other list posting):

I had the same problem ; so, I looked at http://wiki.horde.org/MimeMagic
and found that |mime_magic.magicfile had to be defined in php.ini.
So I added this definition with the same magic file path as in
horde/config/conf.php (for me /usr/share/file/magic), and yet, MIME
types are correctly recognized (at least msword and msexcel)

Horde Webmail anmeldung trotzt connect an imap server nicht möglich

Hi Mailingliste,

ich habe das folgende Problem

Ich habe Horde Webmail auf nen Debian Server installiert und habe die Anmeldung so eingestellt das sich das
Webmail Frontend von Horde an einen anderen Server anmeldet.

/* Example configurations: */

$servers['imap'] = array(
'name' => 'IMAP Server',
'server' => 'xx.xx.xx.xx',
'hordeauth' => true,
'protocol' => 'imap/notls',
'port' => 143,
);

Excellent, this appears to work. I'm not so sure the actual detection
is going on (the autocad files aren't coming up as app/octet-stream) but
at least the behavior is improved.

Use lynx (dump) to connect IMP

Hi!

I'm using the latest version of Horde Webmail Edition.
I never used lynx to post, so I'm having some problems.
Here is what I'm doing:
# lynx -dump -post_data "imapuser=postmaster&pass=PASSOWRD"
"http://localhost/horde/imp/login.php?new_lang=pt_BR"

Lynx just don't give me a response.

Can anyone help me?

Regards,
Rodrigo.

Dear Jan,

Our hosting company includes Horde webmail with there system. Is there
a way to have a graphical signature or an HTML code signature on new
sent mail?

Thanks in advance,

word files getting attached as richtext.

Dear List,

First part:

We are using the latest stable Horde Groupware WebMail edition.

We have been getting complaints from our users that, the word files
which they attach are not readable by the recipients and themselves
from their sent-mail folder.

I had debugged and found that, Firefox's mimetypes.rdf file is getting
updated with wrong type for doc files (richtext). So, used to tell
the users to remove this file and it used to solve the problem. I
know, this is not the correct solution.

Has any experienced this problem. My setup is on RHEL 5.3 where I am
using all built-in software provided by RHEL. I have compiled and
added all the prerequisite PECL modules like fileinfo etc.

Second part:

Today, while just looking at phpinfo() output through test.php, I
observed that, for mime_magic, it was showing, invalid magic file,
disabled.

I goggled for this problem, and one of the solution was, edit
/etc/php.ini and add a line
mime_magic.magicfile="/etc/httpd/conf/magic". And I restarted httpd,
and now I am getting mime_magic support enabled for phpinfo(). Could
this be the problem for my word file attachment related issues, which
