Viewing any message always shows the same one.

I recently started using Imp 4. The first email I get, and view, all is
well. But every new email after that that I click on from the Index to
view, shows the SAME original message again. Even if I've since deleted
it.

The preview always works properly, and when I *reply* I see the actual
email message quoted. But I always get the same old / original
email message everytime I go to view any other email.

To be precise, when I click on the index entry for the message, I see
the actual message *headers*, it's just the *body* of the message that's
incorrect (an older, deleted message).

Re: Viewing any message always shows the same one.

Ack! I hit the wrong key and my message got sent before I was ready to
send it. Sorry about that.

If I logout of Imp and then back in again, I'll see (properly) the first
message I click on from the index in the new session - but, any time
after that, will keep seeing the body of that same message again.

For further information, I'm using Horde 3, Imp 4, and PHP 5.0.3, under
Apache 2.0.52.

The same thing happens with both Mozilla and IE - so it's not a browser
related issue.

Jason.

Re: Viewing any message always shows the same one.

I've done some more troubleshooting and have come up with some better
information.

It's not always the same message body that I see. Rather, it's always
the message body of the first messsage with the same message #x that I
viewed within the sesssion. Since I normally delete a message after
I've read it, it seemed as if this was the case (since I'm usually
always viewing message #1).

For instance, if at the start of a session I only have a single message
in my Inbox, and I view it, that's what I see. If I delete it and then
get another one (which is now, itself, message #1) I see the previous
message body instead.

If I *don't* delete this one, but receive a new one (which is now
message #2) I'll view it properly. If I delete message #2 and receive
another new one (now message #2) I see the previous message #2's body
instead.)

So - to make sure that I always see every message properly, I can't
delete any of them. This makes sure that every message has a unique,
constantly incrementing, message number.

So - what is it here that's caching the message body of each message
number? I do note that if I do a grep for something in the body of the
message it will show up in one of my /tmp/sess_ PHP files. So - it
*appears* as if it's PHP that's caching this information. Why? And how
can I prevent it? Deleting the PHP session file that's storing this
information results in my logging myself out because it's also storing
my login credentials...

Cannot view messages in IMP4

Hello. I just upgraded to Horde3 and IMP4. I am using IMP as my auth
for login and can login fine with no problems. I am using Courier
IMAP. The messages are retrieved with no problem, however when I click
on a message to view it nothing happens.

On the log level I notice that the headers are not being downloaded:

Jan 1 11:24:09 myserver imapd: LOGIN, user=scott,

ip=[::ffff:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn], protocol=IMAP

Jan 1 11:24:09 myserver imapd: DISCONNECTED, user=scott,

ip=[::ffff:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn], headers=0, body=1521, time=0

Jan 1 11:24:33 myserver imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn]

When I compare this to IMP3 I see this:

Jan 1 11:25:06 myserver imapd: LOGIN, user=scott,

ip=[::ffff:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn], protocol=IMAP

Jan 1 11:25:06 myserver imapd: LOGOUT, user=scott,

ip=[::ffff:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn], headers=94, body=913, time=0

Jan 1 11:25:25 myserver imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn]

What I notice is that headers are not being downloaded in IMP4?? Hmmm

Several problems with Horde+IMP

Hi all,

I'm using the previous horde version and IMP for some time now, and I'm
still wondering why it actually works. But it seems it does quite well.

Now I wanted to upgrade to the current version. And I ran into multiple
problems:

* Renaming a user leads to have me locked out. I renamed "Administrator"
to "yves" and had to correct things by hand in the database because I
could not log in anymore. Then I had to manually correct the config file
that I was Admin again.

* I'm using Firefox 1.0 and the web interface makes a highly unstable
impression to me. Sometimes, I get the left menu, sometimes not.
Sometimes it can save settings, seldom not.

* I cannot update my default identity. I could with the old horde, but
now it won't remember any changes. After storing them, I get a success
message, but in that moment, they're lost again. Alzheimer? As far as I
can tell, the database account is set up correctly. Before it wasn't and
it didn't even give me a warning about that. Please make horde tell the
user, if there should be a problem!

* I must log in to horde with my IMAP account data. That works fine, but
why cannot it store this information for me and give me access when I
have logged into horde? When I click on "Accounts", I get no checkbox,
but I can perform some operations on them. Great.

* What is that "Layout" button supposed to do? It looks like I could

You really think that we just released unstable crap, don't you?

Why don't you read docs/INSTALL, properly configure the preferences
backend (for
starters), and don't *ever* post another message complaining about errors when
you don't include the actual, complete error message.

Re: Several problems with Horde+IMP

I had similar problems because an old DB pear module, upgrade it.

And please try to be nicer to the list, specially to those who make the
best web
mail system, much more than a web mail system actually :)

I used horde 2 with imp3 for a long time, and now im using horde 3 imp
4, and i
think its more than functional.

Submit an enhancement request to search for all the email addresses first and
remove those that are found.

Default uid for spam reporting?

Hello,

Using IMP-4.0, if spam reporting is used (using a program like
sa-learn), what uid is the program run as? I have Bayesian learning set
up for individual users, not system-wide. Many thanks!

MIME.php Error for Some Messages

Hi, all.

When viewing some pages of my mailbox, I get the error

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in
/usr/local/lib/php/Horde/MIME.php on line 664

A very cursory review of the code and an extensive quantity of trial and error
has confirmed that the problem only occurs when the current page of the mailbox
contains messages with a mangled To: header (for example, "To:
undisclosed-recipients:;"). The error notice is produced twice for each
offending message.

I haven't figured out a way to get Horde to produce a "To:
undisclosed-recipients:;" header yet, so obviously the offending e-mails must
come from less awesome mailers. ;-)

I've created Ticket #1057 for this problem.

Thanks,

~B
