Chora 2.0-ALPHA

The Horde Team is pleased to announce the first alpha release of the Chora
Repository Viewer version 2.0.

Chora is built upon the Horde Application Framework and provides a read-only
browser interface to any number of version control repositories. Advanced
features include a visual branch view of the repository's history,
pretty-printed output, annotation, patchsets and basic statistics.

This is a preview version that should not be used on production
systems. Some small parts are missing and there are still a few bugs,
some of which are listed below. You should not use this preview
version over existing production data.

The API, configuration items, or features may change before the final
release, but we encourage widespread testing and feedback via the mailing
lists or our bug tracking system. Translations are not ready to be updated
yet, since some strings will change before the final release.

The major changes compared to the Chora 1.x versions are:
    * Subversion support
    * Patchset information
    * Cvsgraph integration
    * Simple commit statistics

Known issues:
    * Documentation is not completely updated yet.
    * Subversion: access to old revisions of cp'ed and mv'ed files does
      not work.

The Chora 2.0-ALPHA distribution is available from the following locations:

Chora displaying the wrong character of a cvs file

Hi all, I'm having a problem with chora when displaying the cvs files, the problem is in the description of
the last historic change, in my case we speak spanish language, and all our own spanish characters aren't
showing, for example this is the right text "añadido un test " but chora is displaying this "añadido un
test ", as you can see is replacing ñ with this ñ, the same is happen with acents etc, if I make a cat to that
file or a vi, I can see those texts fine, but when chora displays them then they are wrong, if I take that file
and put it on the web server root directly and open it, the same happens, I change the charset of my webser
from utf-8 to ISO-8859 and the same problem, I'm using Fedora Core 1, my system locale is set to
LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, php-4.3.4-1, httpd-2.0.48, does any body knows how to fix this, is very important to
us, and I will really going to appreciate your he
 lp on this, on the console we can work ok with those texts but we can't display it fine on
  the web
 server.
Regards Aliet

I don't really understand what Chora shows and what you expect it to show.
But beside that, the general problem is that chora has absolutely no idea
about the charset being used in the commit messages.

I still don't follow what is happening. What was the commit message, in what
charset was it entered, what do you get if you call cvs log locally, what
do you get in Chora, what language did you select in Horde/Chora, what
charset is sent to the browser?

Re: Chora displaying the wrong character of a cvs file

This is the problem...

>still don't follow what is happening. What was the commit message, in what
>charset was it entered,

the commit message was entered with es_ES:utf-8 charset, the default for spanish systems in RedHat and Fedora

>what do you get if you call cvs log locally,

I get the right text...
Añadido el exclude(Horde)

>what do you get in Chora,
I get with chora the wrong ñ character
Añadido el exclude(Horde)

>what language did you select in Horde/Chora
Spanish

> what charset is sent to the browser?
ISO-8859-1

Any ideas???

[[PECL-DEV] Perforce extension proposal (fwd)]

I've started writing a Perforce extension for PHP (see attached).
It's still fairly rough, but it should be useable in its current form.
I plan on adding support for PHP4 shortly, too.

Once the extension itself is in good shape, I'll add Perforce support
to the Horde_VC package, and Chora will magically support Perforce
repositories.

I've started writing a Perforce client extension for PHP. It's fairly
complete at the moment in that it supports nearly all basic client-side
functions, but there's still a bit more work to be done in terms of
cleaning up the code and making certain operations friendlier.

At the moment, the extension only supports PHP 5 (Zend Engine 2), but
I plan on adding support for PHP 4 some time soon.

The extension only exposes an object-oriented interface, and I have no
plans for developing a procedural one at this time.
