minor annoyance

When auditing the 'Installed Programs List',, if I sort my list
alphabetically by software title and then move a program
from 'managed' to 'excluded',,the next cell that is active is the one
with the lowest ID. It's not the next program alphabetically like it
should be.

So i lose my place in the list when moving programs. Not a big deal
but it is real annoying when trying to move down the list in an
orderly way. Am i missing something?

thx

I believe you are referring to an issue that has been fixed.

Re: Library Function

I was at the Track-It user group today in Detroit and when I asked
about reservations for devices such as projectors, loaner laptops,
etc, I was told coming soon. From the way I was told, sounds like it
will be in the next version.

Granularity in TrackIT Security

All,

Several departments in my company are using TrackIT and I would like to see more granularity in the security feature of TrackIT.
My biggest problem is that the "Administrative" privilege is an "Allor Nothing" thing.  I should be able to allow a technician to have administrative privileges for certain modules only.
One of my technician needs administrative privileges so he can create user accounts and log technicians off when they idle for too long.  The other day, he mistakenly reset the "Admin" password, leaving me (the Admin person) out.  I used the back SQL way to reset the password but would like to see "LIMITED" administrative privileges.

Thanks,
Lynx

MAC Audit and MAC Models

Hi,

I am in a mix environment where both MAC and PC's are used.  TrackIT MAC Audit returns bizarre names for MAC models (PowerBook3,5 iBook5,4 etc...)
Am I looking at the wrong field for the MAC m odel names?  I would like names like PowerBook G4 instead of PowerBook2,5.  And if this is the only way TrackIT report the MAC Model names, would some one know how to translate the bizarre names into more common ones?

Thanks

Preventive Maintenance

Does anyone know if Track it where we can put in workorders, schedule them and print them out?  (like a program called Maximo), where you can print out workorders that are scheduled for a week, month, etc.  Something that you put in 1 time and it automatically schedules?
Thanks

Re: MAC Audit and MAC Models

I was told at the trackit Seminar in San Francisco that the new version will have better mac auditing and better ease of use.  I think they addressed the issue with the mac model names.  You might be able to find it in their enhancement section on their website.

RE: Preventive Maintenance

I don't know anything that is builtin, but do know that the TrackIT Professional Services group can create custom triggers that would do this.  A cheap way if you have the Receive module would be to schedule an email at certain times and the ticket would be created.  The drawback being if you had many different scheduled tasks that would require many different assignees.

Remove techncians from Track-It

How does everyone handle technicians that leave your company? There
doesn't seem to be a way to hide technicans from showing in
the "Technician Assigned" field in Track-IT...it gets a bit cumbersome
having to sift through a list of current AND former techs. I would
imagine that deleting the tech altogether would create issues with
historical data. I'm surprised there are no articles on intuit.com
regarding this. Looking forward to your input, thanks!
