The newer devices (about 6 months or younger) do have another power supply than
the older ones. This is a switching power supply and this power supply causes a
16 kHz beep at the Audio Output (if you have a good ear, you can hear it). Also
there is a peak at 26 kHz but you cant hear that. I suppose that some harmonic
waves at higher frequencies could cause interferences with equipment placed near
the Audiotron.

Re: RF Interference

If someone needs support with the power supply, feel free to send me a mail.

I need to know how old your device is and if it makes a humm and/or slight
vibrating if you switch it on (Amplifier off).

Re: New customer

Does EAC tag your WAV files so that they're compatible with the AT, or do you rely on your TOC generator to do that?

I went for quality and took the disk space quantity hit. I ripped over
600 CDs as WAV files and stored them in to Genre, Group, and Album
directories using EAC and wrote a VBScript to parse the directories into
a TOC file and all is well.

EAC cannot do that by itself. However, using Brian's ATWavTag, you can
tag the WAV files as they are created by EAC. http://www.tasman.nl/AT.

List Help

I am getting updated from this list individually instead of in the
consolidated/digested format.
I went to the website to reset this but found no help there... Can some
one assist me?

I have cancelled my subscription to the list twice, and it hasn't worked
either time. I don't use a mail forwarder. I too would like to be
removed from the list.

Re: RF Interference

Hi - I should have mentioned that I disconnected the AT from the
receiver to be sure it was some sort of RF. The sound is still audible
in the FM section without any connection between the AT and the
receiver.

Re: New customer

They are not really tagged at all. By what directory they are in, I
make a TOC file. Someday, when I get a second, I may write a script to
suck them in to a media player so I can play them on computers. I never
got a real solid feeling about the support for tagging WAV files.

Slowness...TOC File.

How do I tell if the AT is reading the atrontc.vtc file? I have about
14k mp3 and it has taken 5 mins to get to 700 on boot. I have the file
in the share, used iTOC on the Mac to make it. This used to work. The
issue is that I have made a ton of network changes and not sure what
the issue could be.

I am running...

1. latest beta firmware (the speed issue was there with the one before
this to)
2. samba 2.2.8a on OpenBSD 3.5
3. the NIC in the server is NOT having duplex issues.

I really do not think that the AT is reading the TOC file. How do I
tell? What could have changed in the TOC file to make it this way? Is
there something that can cause corruption in the file so it does not
read?

Thanks!

Check the history.asp page. It should say "Using TOC File for share x".
