It's not difficult, not even with MP3. The device can do it - it's up to
you to supply it with gapless MP3 files. The freely available LAME encoder
can do this. If you need help with command line settings... just ask.

I had a similar problem before.  I used Firestarter to configure iptables
and tried opening ports 137/139 and even allowed all traffic from my
Audiotron's I/P to pass.  Nothing worked.

Then I did a search on the archives and, a long time ago, someone posted
that the Audiotron was having problems with the UNCLEAN modules in IPTABLES.
 So I looked around the Firestarter confiuration files and removed the
entries that had something to do with UNCLEAN (there were three lines).
BTW, I do not have a clue as to what UNCLEAN does (or even how to setup
iptables).  What I know is that it worked so I'm happy :-)

What specifically is the problem with 3.0.0? I have been using it for a
little while and it seems OK to me. I have been reluctant to move to the
3.0.26 beta when I don't seem to be having any problems. Thanks.

I don't know why this isn't spelled out more clearly in the release notes,
but I have been testing the HPNA beta since September, and I can tell you

[AT] Audio MP2 files - DAB format

I am looking into buying one of these for use in UK - I did a bit of
research a while back , but the recent official 240V release has made me
look into it again.

Back in April 2002 there was a question about a specific streaming syntax.
it referred to:

I recognise that as being DABBar from a PSION Wavefinder.
I use DAB a lot and have timed recording in MP2 format - same underlying
system as referred to above.
48kHz and variety of bitrates

I just recorded some MP2 samples and passed them over to a current Audiotron
user - and it could not play them (even renamed as MP3 - a trick that often
works with other players).  However, he is not using the latest firmware
AFAIK.

Anyone with current software willing to give it a try - or failing that ...
any ideas (apart from re-encoding the files, which I would like to avoid ..
but I know that I could do it if I had to)

The problems that I and other HPNA users were having were things like:

Intermittent gaps in the audio, up to several seconds in duration,

Playing interrupted in the middle of a file, after a few seconds the next
file would start playing,

Playing stopped completely, often with a total lockup of the AT,
necessitating power cycling.

Needless to say, the last was by far the worst, but by 3.0.0 this problem
was either fixed or was rare enough that I don't recall seeing it. The
other problems persisted, but may have become less frequent. It is hard to
say because they seemed to come and go. Sometimes you could go several days
without a problem, other times it would happen several times in one day.
Some users also may have seen them much more frequently than others, and it
was also reported that changes in phone wiring may have made a significant
difference as well. For example, Seth kept insisting that several VTB
employees were using HPNA and never saw a single problem. Months went by
before they were even able to reproduce it.

Seems we got bundled wireless and tv-out with the AT-200. Good job :)

I wasn't really aware of the semi-pro/pro market the AT-300 is targeted at
really but it seems well suited.
