RE: Sorry for the silence...

Hello group - are we still active? I hope so. Technical problem -- both of my Tandy WP-2s are having flashing
screens and give me this "Low Back-Up" message. Can anyone please tell me what this means and what I can do to
correct the situation?
Many thanks
Hugh

RE: Sorry for the silence...

Spencer: Turn the WP-2 over, locate the backup battery panel, put a new
coin cell in there, and you should be just ducky. Unlike the M100, 102,
200, the WP-2 uses a replaceable backup battery that will need to be
changed occasionally.

Good luck!

Log Recorder for Model 10x is freeware that is ideally suited to November Sweepstakes competition

This is for the Radio Amateurs of the U.S. and Canada who have interest in competing in the ARRL
November Sweepstakes [ http://www.arrl.org/sweepstakes ] which takes place this weekend
(11/05/2011 21:00UTC through 11/07/2011 02:59UTC).

At the Club 100 website, in the Personal Libraries under Ron Wiesen, there are three files that
are especially pertinent to competing in the ARRL November Sweepstakes. These are:

o SECTNS.DO - list of the 80 "section" abbreviations (71 U.S. plus 9 Canadian)
  Personal Libraries / Ron Wiesen / Sectns.do

o LOGREC.DO - textual source of the "Log Recorder for Model 10x" BASIC program
Personal Libraries / Ron Wiesen / Log Recorder for Model 10x / Logrec.do

o LOGDOC.TXT - documentation for the "Log Recorder for Model 10x"
Personal Libraries / Ron Wiesen / Log Recorder for Model 10x / LOGDOC.TXT

As regards the "Log Recorder for Model 10x", an excerpt of the first two paragraphs of the
"Overview" section from its documentation file is shown below.

============== Excerpt from Documentation file LOGDOC.TXT ==============

                LOG MANUAL

        Overview

LOG is freeware placed in the public domain by Ron Wiesen. LOG is
useful to owners of Tandy laptop Models 100 and 102. The laptop file
LOGREC.DO is the essence of LOG freeware. It is the source for making
BASIC program file LOGREC.BA which is a competition grade log recorder,
herein simply called LOG.

Hello Randall:

You're quite welcome. And thank you for your service in the U.S. Army MARS.

URL [ http://www.arrl.org/news/2011-arrl-cw-sweepstakes-are-you-ready ] lists six "Tips, Tricks
and Techniques for ARRL Sweepstakes" that can lead to a high score, or even a "clean sweep" of
all ARRL/RAC sections.

It's nearly 21:00UTC -- gotta' fire up my station.
