List server should be back up now

I am testing the server...

I apologize, but the connectivity to the server went down with no notice,
so I have travelled the 300 miles today to retrieve the server and set it
up at my house.

The good news is I'll have instant access to the box now if anything does
go wonky with it in the future.

I also have 2 new (to me) boxes that I can use as backup hardware - one is
a rackmount server, both are either equally fast or faster than the hosting
box now, so I'll be working on another 'plan b' shortly. (I like to have
multiples, but with the hardware being out of my hands, there wasn't much I
could do.)

Sorry for the lack of notice, but this should be the last major outage for
quite a while.

There will be a minor outage sometime in the next day or two - I'll need to
move the server (which is quite noisy) off my desk and into the basement,
but I'm not doing that tonite.

Thanks, and sorry again!

Yow. 300 miles is non-trivial. Thanks for the effort, the desk space,
the later basement space and your continued support.

Re: List server should be back up now

What an amazing commitment, Roger. The last time
I traveled 300 miles was last January to go from
the San Francisco Bay Area (Pleasant Hill) down
to the Los Angeles Area (Pomona). I hope this
comparison helps folks understand what that means
in time commitment. In short, it takes 6 hours
at 75 mph to travel 300 miles. And that's if
everything goes smoothly, i.e., no snow, no
accidents, etc. Of course, we visit snow in CA,
you (gasp!) live in it! Weird, dude.

Thank you for your service to us all. -Rick-

Update of Model T Radio Amateur List

The "Model T Radio Amateur List" [ http://www.club100.org/mtralist.html ] at
the Club 100 website has been updated. There currently are 164 Radio Amateurs
in the list. The entry for every Radio Amateur in the list consists of: email
address, name, and callsign.

After today (May 5, 2009) there are only 52 days that remain before the
opening hour of ARRL Field Day 2009 arrives in IARU Region 2.

I'll be using Tandy laptops during Field Day 2009 in order to have a
competitive advantage. One Tandy laptop (e.g., a Model 200) will run "Morse
code Keyboard for models 200 and 10x" (MK21), while the other laptop (M10x)
will run "Log Recorder". Laptop files related to these two applications are
available at the Club100 Member Upload Library under the Ron Wiesen member
directory:

Elementary function on a Model 100 list

I guess this makes me a member of Generation IX. Hmm, I guess Sherlock Holmes was a member of Generation I-1.
If the Romans lacked a printed representation for zero, and i=SQRT(-1), then one could deduce that this
consulting detective is imaginary, the result of a real SQuiRT from the UI of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

term "slacker".... a term which I sometimes think fits me all too well.
