** Mary and the Butterflies **

This was a quick capture with a jumpy framerate but it gives a decent
preview although with no sound. Look at Mary run. hehehe.

 Roger,

On a dial-up connection, it took 18 minutes to download that page. I was
able to see two of the commercials and the "Mary.." didn't get to me at all.

I wonder if you could break up that page into smaller pieces so those of us
with dial-up connections can see this cool stuff.

 Thanks,

George

Re: [coco] Retro gaming...

I mess around with my Cocos via HyperTerm. I love the assingable buttons.
Real handy they are!

About 17 degrees C outside tonight (brrr!), clear skys. The fireworks should

Does anyone else use HyperTerminal to operate their Coco under OS9 or am I
the only one?

I'll see what I can do.

I thought the .flv Flash videos only load/buffer/play when you click
on the video area. The Mary and the Butterflies .swf video is
autostarting, however. It's about a meg in size.

in the meantime, you can probably directly view the game video

Sure Jim
Send me your address and I'll mail it to you.
I don't have it in a PC transmittable form. By the time I make the
change the mail disk will have arrived.

Re: VCC 1.17 FD question and The Defeater request

The biggest problem I see for that , is that it will only work if you
have 2 drives. In the emulator, you always have 4 drives.
That means that even after POKEing to read the second side of D1 as D2,
it will conflict with the real (emulated) D2
I don't think that there is a way to remove just 1 or 2 drives from the
emulator.

Yeah, games like Angband and Nethack are huge. On the other hand, I
wrote a roguelike game on the TRS-80 Model 100 (32K RAM, 32K ROM, 1.X
MHz 8085) in BASIC. It doesn't have to be huge to be a fun game.

You could write your own roguelike game. You'd learn a lot about
programming... ;-) And if you wrote it in C, not only would you be
learning a fairly current language, but your game would be reasonably
portable!

[coco] Today <OS9

If anyone wishes to share information that can be added to this, please let
me know. I'll let you know the format for the text files this is based on
and we can add to it.
I run this each day when I first boot up. It's fun. If you also have "today"
and want a copy of the files I have, I can put it on the web for
downloading.

[Color Computer] Happy New Years!

There hasn't been much traffic on this list in a while, so I thought I'd
wish everyone a "Happy New Year" hoping that it will wake people up :)

I've been going through a lot of my magazines and disks, and my first big
project is to start archiving all my software onto a PC. Does anyone have
any suggestions as to what applications work best for this? I heard that
Omni-Flop is a great application for copying disks. Any others?

What about emulators. Is MESS better than Jeff V's emulator?

Hope to hear from some of you soon.

Cheers!

Jim Cox
