RE: Any tips for getting OS-9 or Nitros-09 running in anemulator?

Fantastic! I can now boot Nitros-09's 40 track disks in MESS.

Thanks,
John

PS: there's a bug in someone's email system here. My original mail I sent
had a space between "an" and "emulator" but it has since been stripped.

Odd.

I know this off topic, but I'm asking everyone I know.

Does anyone still have the Windows for Workgroups diskettes? I need someone
to do a directory of each disk and let me know what files go on what disks,
and email me a list at my personal email addy.

I put all my files on a CD when I started having problems with the original
disks, and now I need to rebuild a set of disks to help out an elderly
couple who still use them on their old '386.

Sorry to be OT here, but everyone has been so helpful with everything else.

(You can kill this message as soon as you like)

After CSAVEing, listen to the tape. Does it sound crisp and high pitched or
kind of "muddy"? May be a bad tape, may be head alignment or cleaning, may be
volume/tone controls, may be a bad cable... It's recommended to use as short a
tape as possible, as supposedly they are less susceptible to speed variations,
can't say for sure.

As far as disks go, I always recommend replacing the second drive with a 3.5"
drive. Modern 1.4Meg drives are fine, and 720K 3.5" floppies can still be
purchased new.

Neat site!

A friend of mine (who organizes/runs all of the Vintage Computer Festivals)
named Sellam Ismail has http://marketplace.vintage.org/

You can list auctions or just straight sales there.

There's some neat stuff out there right now... I'd be grabbing that
Heathkit 3400 trainer if I didn't get one at auction about 2 years ago... ;-)

If you go to this page, you'll see yours is the first message with the
incorrect subject.

Weird.

RE: Software media

Thanks, I'll try all of those to see if I can fix the problem. I wonder if
my timing is off a little, since I have to turn on the machine after I hit
csave (not a computer cassette recorder-no remote jack).

As for the drives, I can't find anyone around here that still has the 'edge
card' floppy cables any more. They have cleaned out their back rooms and
thrown all that "old stuff" away, and have all gone to the pin connector
cables.

[OT]: Any tips for getting OS-9 or Nitros-09 runningin anemulator?

The space had been stripped in the reply you sent, so when I sent my reply,
the space was already gone.

Now it looks like some client is adding a tab character in the subject
between "in" and "an" , and has stripped another space. What does your Sent
Items folder have for the different subjects? And what client are you
using?

"Parts is parts"

Someone made mention that there was a lady who was without a 'puter. I
think that's just a crime. :-). And in an effort to assist, I comprised
this list of extra stuff-sorry it's not CoCo (I'm still trying to find parts
& pieces myself)

I have this CPU available: http://squareone.no-ip.org/images/nav_sepp.gif.
It's a Pentium3/600 cpu with ONE card-edged connector, encased in a cooling
fan. It's called SECC-2 packaging.

I have a GA-6VXE7+ P3 Motherboard from Gigabyte, no CPU:
http://squareone.no-ip.org/images/photo_6vxe7p.gif

I have an ABit BP6 P3 dual celeron motherboard complete with CPUs,
http://squareone.no-ip.org/images/bp6.jpg, and a PDF copy of the manual,
http://squareone.no-ip.org/bp6.pdf

I also have an AOpen AP5TC (Pentium MMX family, AMD K5/ K6/ K6-2/K6-III,
Cyrix 6x86 / 6x86L / M2 and IDT WinChip C6 family)
http://squareone.no-ip.org/images/aopen.jpg

I have several 3Com 10/100 PCI NICs, a couple of Pentium CPUs, a 2 meg video
card, and several sticks of DIMM and SIMM memory.

And on another note, there is a section on my forum for anyone who wants to
post stuff for swap, sale, or give away. Feel free....
