Lost message

I believe, but am not sure, that John Riddle had sent me a message <at>
podraza.tony@... Unfortunately, I had a finger-fumble when I was
clearing out the spam when the message arrived, and i, uh, oopsed that
message, too. Would the sender please re-contact me at this email
address (tonypodraza@...). I caught a fleeting reference about
receiving something from me in the snail-mail.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you.

By the way, all, April is just around the corner.

Portal-9 on Windows 2000

Can anyone confirm that Portal-9 still doesn't startup under Windows 2000
with Service Pack 4? I checked the Microsoft web site and I was stunned at
the number of bugfixes in Windows 2000 after so many service packs before
failed to correct them.

Thanks for any clues.

Re: Portal-9 on Windows 2000

Hi Roger,

As of three days ago, Portal-9 still crashes out on Windows 2000
Professional with a memory access violation error. Unfortunately, it's my
work PC, so I dont have the exact message with me.

Regards,
David

Let HD 5,25" FDDs operate at 300 rpm instead of 360 rpm

Could this help to use 1.2 Mb 5 1/4 drives with the CoCo?

Portal-9 on Windows 2000

If anyone would like to test an update of Portal-9 (2.02a) on their Windows
2000 system, just reply directly to me and I will e-mail you the
portal9.exe file only. You already need to have a previous version of the
IDE installed, and then you just overwrite your existing portal9.exe file
(after making a copy of the original, ofcourse).

For everyone else, I'll have 2.02 uploaded to CoCo3.com tonight or tomorrow
night, whether the Win2000 issue is fixed right away or not, since other
fixes were made. Hopefully, these fixes will take care of the Win2000 problem.

Re: Portal-9 on Windows 2000

I have fixed several paintbrush-related resource leaks in Portal-9, and two
instances of a possible illegal memory operation that some versions of
Windows could be handling while others can't. Version 2.02 fixed those
bugs, but I'm still not sure what it will do to help the Windows 2000
situation.

You can now click on any .por project file and the IDE (a new instance)
will launch and open the project, all ready to go. So that's now *2*
clicks you can do to build a project. Click the .por file, click Build. :)

A quick download can be grabbed at:

[Color Computer] MESS disk format

Hi, I was just curious about MESS's .dsk format.

I can use 35 track single sided images fine, but it seems that something
double sided doesn't work right.

is MESS's CoCo emulation fixed on a single sided format?

Re: [Color Computer] MESS disk format

Without knowing exactly what your problem disk image looks like and what
created it, there is no simple answer to your question. Keep in mind
that there are several ways of creating a double sided disk on a real
Coco: 1) a flippy - with extra notch and hole for a single head drive;
2) separate front and back - two "singles" in a two head drive; 3)
combined front and back with single directory structure - normally
requires OS-9 although may work with ADOS-3.

When you convert the above three formats for emulator usage, only the
last will require special treatment. The others are just several
"single" sided disks of 35-40 tracks in length. What are you working with?
