Cool Roger, I've posted one showing clearly the opening I made for an internal
floppy drive. Thanks.

I'm not sure you can link to a Geocities hosted photo or not. Maybe this
is why yours aren't showing up?

I'll look into this.

Yep, I had forgotten that. Luckily I put the link too.

Thanks,
Bob

Anadisk 2.07 doesnt seem to work right.... V2.06 did copy Sundog
games, but when trying to load them on the COCO3 I would get IO
errors. I can do a DIR and see the files, but when I try to load the
game it either gets stuck (white fire of eternity) or gives an IO
error (Sinistar).

Still no way to copy these old disks :-(

Great idea! I'll have to snap a pic of my COCO setup tonight.

If it helps copy these old protected disks, I'll support it !

Re: odd JOYSTK behavior

Hi,

FYI: My deuce (a 3026, "The socketed one"), uses 0/1 for the right.

The "TRS-80 color computer quick reference guide" (26-3194)
has these reversed (0/1 for the left).

Re: [Color Computer] Copy protection

You'd need to run a careful analysis of the master floppy first and probably
do a special format. The generic 'copy' probably isn't smart enough to fix
things. Even then the guy MAY have a cunning protection scheme. Some used
two sectors on a track with the same numbers. Others buried stuff between
the sectors. You need to find out what the trick was in order to make the
copy.

Re: [Color Computer] Copy protection

What I've found recently is that Anadisk reads the old coco formatted disks fine, but
when it comes to writing the old format on a new disk, there is a dependance on the
actual floppy drive.

When I've tried to replicate disks using an IBM 360K drive, I had problems every time.
the disks were unusable, and when examined in detail, the final sector in the cylinder
was corrupted.

I've since mounted an actual Tandy 180K floppy drive in my PC to overcome this. I use a
drive that shipped with my coco FD-501. That seems to work correctly and so far, every
time.
