Re: Weather -- 30N, 29.5W?

Dave

Yep about 95 degrees W plus or minus a degree or two. If north of
Houston then I would say about 30 to 31 degrees N.

T-Shirts and some Software!

While digging through some more "stuff" today, I ran across some new
CoCo disks. Two are games from Strongware -- "GEM" and "SovietBloc". The
most interesting one is from Chris Dekker entitled "VDISK". This is a
utility that lets you connect a CoCo3 and PC together (I forget how -- I
don't think it's the bit-banger but may be) and lets the CoCo3 access
the PC as a virtual hard drive. The hardware info is in a file on the
disk. I don't recall if it's OS-9 or DECB, but I suspect OS-9.

Finally, I have a set of disks from Earl Casper. One has a program
called PRT-SER that changes a PIA line from input to output so that DECB
applications can send printer output to another computer running a
terminal program (for use as a buffer or serial/parallel converter), and
a program called SIMPLE that sends and receives disk sectors over the
bit-banger at 300K baud (actually 298,000). There are also two 3.5"
disks with files that allow an Amiga computer to be used as a file
handler for a CoCo. The Amiga treats CoCo virtual disks as files, the
CoCo thinks they are individual 35 track disks. It's an assembly and C
coded program, and has the source code on the disks. Full printed docs
on these, some BASIC listings and some assembler source code! There is
an Amiga and CoCo disk.

Then I have the three large CoCoFest T-shirts (new, 95 Atlanta, 94 and
95 Chicago). All I'd like to have is $10 to pack and ship all this to
someone!

Pass this along to other lists or interested parties. First one to drop
me an e-mail saying a checks on the way gets it!

BUG Disks

OK, I also stuck the disk images on Maltedmedia. They are still in the
incoming directory but at least they are there! Maybe the files on rtsi
need to be moved before they are available?
In any case, Once the files on maltedmedia are moved out of the incoming
directory they should be available. Sorry about the trouble everyone.

I'm sure they're quite defunct now. They put out a nicely done Newsletter
and a PD library.
I wonder if any of them are still around...Its interesting to see the
newsletter go from a few pages probably done on a typewriter/dot matrix
printer to something done on a laser printer with a DTP package. Kind of
shows how the whole computer industry has changed so quickly over a few
years.

Re: BUG Disks

I noted a blurb somewhere on RTSI about incoming files not being immediately
available. I'm guessing they are checked for viruses and perhaps pertinence
too.

The person having the problem was running OS 9. I think my fix for the
Netscape issue also fixed the problem on that OS.

Thanks - apparently the problem was with the JVM in OS 9. Hopefully it's
fixed. I wonder if there's any money in a service that tests Java
applets on all available platforms? Probably not.

And we northamericans will build snowmen in honor of you. (And stash
snowballs in the freezer waiting for some of you to spend your winter
up this way).

There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our
homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is
simply a racket. Major General Smedley Butler, USMC, 1933

There is a JVM for OS-9? 6809 or 68k? Wow! :-)
That was one suit that Microware should have one and Apple lost.
