Split screen laptop

Interesting idea. At least the keyboard is split, too bad they didn't
have the sense to straighten the rows. I also find the utter lack of
a pointing device problematic. I don't want to carry a separate
device with my laptop.

It seems to me that this company is providing this as a "technology
preview" in the hope that someone else will buy the idea and do the
actual manufacturing.

beer in my keyboard

Well, it finally happened, as I had long predicted it would.

About a month ago I accidentally spilled a few ounces of beer into my
1987 IBM Model M keyboard. The beer was Summit Extra Pale Ale (St.
Paul, Minn). As I thought it might, the keyboard began to malfunction.
Reasoning that it would be better to flush out the offending beverage
than let it dry inside the keyboard, I unplugged the board and
thoroughly flushed it with tap water. I mean, I completely drenched it,
and then drained it. After drying for about 2 weeks, I put the keyboard
back into service, and all is well. It works just fine.

In case anybody cares.

Re: beer in my keyboard

Most electronics you can dishwasher with a very small amount of soap
(like half a shotglass), then run the steam cycle twice and it'll be
fine afterward.

In case that helps =)

Re: beer in my keyboard

I usually work better after I've dried out a couple weeks, too.

:)
