Kernel 2.6 Now The Default In Oe Builds?

Hi there,
Zecke changed the default kernel for simpad builds to 2.6.11-hh2oe1_cvs, 
does that mean than it now works at least as well as good ol' 2.4? 
What's its status?

The changelog is not very explicit on this:

SIMpad:
Be mean cset. Use the 2.6 kernel as default. It is not perfect
but it doesn't conflict with the OpenSIMpad 0.9.0 release goals. Now
it will also feature a complete 2.6 kernel...

Be mean use handhelds-sa-2.6 as default

It builds, it boots, it has a GPL mq200 driver, usbnet works, touchscreen 
works (but does not survive suspend and resume).

What is not yet done:
	-keys are not implemented
	-IrDa is untested
	-PCMCIA is untested
	-generally suspend and resume is not tested well
	-...

Hello Simpad World

Hey all,

I'm just writing this message to see if anyone is still watching this list.
I've bought myself a couple of simpads and I think I'd like to start
helping out with the project....

Of course, if there is nobody else working on the project, I guess
that would mean I would be the one working on the project, not just
someone helping with it.

Anyway...

Hi,
    I think they are quite some people watching this, but unfortunately 
my simpad is also gathering dust in the corner (and i'm waiting for the 
new Nokia device).

The biggest problems are the hardware interfaces, quite many unsolved 
bugs in that area, like the keys not working, sound on touchscreen, etc ...

The keys *are* working. On a 2.4 kernel the only remaining bugs are:
 - sound on touchscreen (related to the mixer) before 1st suspend
 - poweron led staying on with Till patch.

It seems doable. I have no time to do that at the moment, but it
remains on my TODO list.

I'm not really interested in the nokia device - the screen seems too
small (physically)

Somebody mentioned on the forum that they thought USB was never
implemented on the Simpad, is this true?

It even works on windows using the Bahia Network Driver, although it 
won't resist a suspend/wakeup.

Stuck at calibration screen

I've just flashed my SL4 with a fresh build of opensimpad (last night
checkout from OE, no special tags) and now I stuck at the initial
touchscreen calibration screen.
It doesn't seem that calibrarion accept any input...
Does anyone happen to know what can cause that?
The old 0.9.0-rc1 build from last December didn't exhibit this problem,
so that must be due some recent changes?
Any input is appreciated...
