I'm currently back on RC1, so I can't check this myself:

Is QWS_KEYBOARD correctly set to 'SIMpad'?
In RC1 this was done in /etc/init.d/opie based on the device model
(IPAQ/SimPad). Apparently, this has been removed together with QWS_DISPLAY.

RE: GSM and GPRS

Guylhem

The internal RS232 port has TTL level.
The external has RS232 level shifters with +- 12V level.

Try the internal 5V supply. If you do not run PCMCIA in parallel,
it should be powerfull enough.

Walter

Re: showstoppers for OpenSIMpad release?

Got it!

QWS_KEYBOARD has to be set to 'Buttons' now.

No other showstopper found so far, but the main problems persist:
 - crackling sound before first suspend or when touching the mixer
 - no opie sound
 - buttons are hanging sporadically after first suspend (tetrix)
 - inaccurate touchscreen

The touchscreen handling can be improved by setting
  pthres pmin=400
in /etc/ts.conf

status kernel 2.6

hi there

i would like to know what the current status of a 2.6 port for the
simpad is.
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=5152871&forum_id=19500
makes me believe its already there. which kerneltree should i use and
where can i get it? i'm not interrested in any opie/qpe stuff, i just
want a actual kernel to play around with directfb on it.
i'd also like to know if the sound-problems (never worked for me with
opie ~0.8 and 2.4.19-rmk7-jpm2) are still there.

i read about the license issues about the mq200 fbdev.. but do not
bother, since i do not life in usa. ;) in worst case the driver has to
be rewritten from scratch.

it seems to me that this project is nearly dead, but since there are no
compareable devices out there (size of screen) i see no other choice.

thanks in advance for any answers. i am subscribed to this list so you
do not need to cc me

regards
