Where is Version #3

I received an email from Greg on Nov 13 informing me that ver 3 was
imminent. Could we get an update?

Agreed! I'm holding out on buying Yanoff until I see version 3 because I want
the wide screen support (which I assume will work on my Zodiac as well).

Yes, things have slipped a little bit. It turns out that the T3 does some
very unusual things as far as screen/form update frequencies and there were
a few additional problems discovered but we have those all fixed. Then I
discovered there is a beta T5 simulator available and so I downloaded it and
found a few other small things I want to get fixed first to make sure
EVERYBODY can use the new release with no (big) problems. There is also a
late-arrival conduit issue which I need to resolve also before release. Let
me assure you that new device support (except no use of color yet) is
E*X*C*E*L*L*E*N*T in 3.0! You will be very pleased. I expect to release in
a few days....

I am very sorry for the delay but, as it is frequently with software, it
could only be avoided by releasing software that I *knew* had problems and,
obviously, I am *loathe* to do that!

Maybe some of the beta testers will chime in and give you some feeling of
how things are shaping up and their reactions to the improvements. In the
meantime, here are the latest relnotes...

I have successfully used Yanoff with my Linksys router & DSL
connection for over 2 years. I've connected via the Java conduit, via
Softick PPP & now I'm using a wireless Bluetooth adapter with good
results.

I've also had excellent results using my PalmModem for regular dial-up
access.

If I had a wi-fi access point & card for my T3, I'm sure I'd have
tried that, too. I think that's the only method I haven't used to
connect Yanoff & I'd assume it would work fine, too.

My point is that Yanoff works perfectly fine with broadband & that
there are multiple ways to connect.

I'm using the free GPL version, BTW, mainly because I'm cheap & the
GPL version works fine for me.

Re: Install Info for Broadband?

Hi Joe,
Yes, I have long since solved my connection problem. It turned out
to be a configuration setup within Yanoff.
My only problem now is message management. Cheers!

Great! I guess I should check the dates on the posts here. This is a
pretty low volume group.

I've never really tried threading in Yanoff. Does it work?

It is very poor in GPL (only does father/son sequencing). The conduit does
nearly-perfect (as good as ANY newsreader on any platform) threading but,
due to the desire to keep things timely on the underpowered Palm, the
threading in New Yanoff is not quite as good (but still VERY good).

You may find that the T3 Yahoo Group is a better forum to get answers
to this question. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tungsten-t3/ will get
you there.

Probably the best guide I've found is http://www.whizoo.com/bt_setup/
-- this includes how to set up connection sharing when you're behind a
home router, etc.

Another source is http://members.chello.se/micce/Bluetooth-Setup.pdf

Good luck! My Bluetooth connection works GREAT with Yanoff!
